Yeah, there were too many good passes that went to her, rather than middle/right, tonight. Just position stats other than Franklin (GOAT left side for Wisconsin), should go middle/right. Still, Orzol is having a statistically good season for hitting efficiency for a Wisconsin left side. She had 7 attacks / set vs. her season average of 5.5. Maybe it was as simple as Orzol’s parents were there from Poland, so give her a few extra in-system sets? It could also be Smrek hitting 0.000 in the first coiple of seys.

Then apparently Ohio State made some adjustments to take that away.

Then apparently Ohio State made some adjustments to take that away. Orzol hits negative in those first two sets, something like 6 kills, 7 errors....she was not the winning option. What is with this narrative that Orzol was hitting well and Ohio State adjusted to take that away? Because she was struggling the entire night. It was Franklin and Robinson that got us over the line in those first two sets. Also, to the point that Smrek was hitting .000s, she got perhaps like 4 total sets lol? One error, one kill, on 4 sets and suddenly we have to set Orzol only ....who was hitting even worse on a lot more sets?

Whoops, still not the "winning option" in any sense and considering she ended up hitting .029 with 10 kills, 9 errors, further disproved this narrative that OSU adjusted to take it away in the latter 3 sets....since she hits better in the last 3 sets LOL. Meanwhile, people here disparaging Smrek for hitting .000s as reasons why Wisconsin was going to Orzol more often....while Orzol was hitting the exact same percentage on more swings?

Well, I was trying to say we set Orzol a little more (rather than a lot more) than average during the Ohio State match. I am not confident of the reason. Clearly its Smrek that has dominant power and height, and so Smrek would always be preferable when it's possible to get her a decent set.

Clearly its Smrek that has dominant power and height, and so Smrek would always be preferable when it's possible to get her a decent set. I'm not just saying Smrek. DRob was on fire, and we still keep trying to go to Orzol in-system when we had DRob both either on the quick or as a RS hitter. Booth was playing relatively well (before she sent two good sets straight-out-of-bound in the 5th set) so we could have also feed her. And the overall sets / sets played that Orzol got is screwed by the fact that we finally set our middle and RS more in the last set on in-system balls and even some OOS balls, I think Orzol only got 2 sets or so in that last set, meaning she was getting 8 sets per set played in the first 4 sets, which would be a 40+% increase from her usual number of sets. And it wasn't just this game, that's my point. In the Nebraska's game she got 26 sets across 3 sets played, nearly 9 sets / set played. In the Minny's game she got 10 sets per sets played. She has been second on the team in attacks now for 3 straight games. That's why I raised the point, it wasn't just a one-game blip.
