Anyone know the status of Wrobel’s injury? I really hope we can see her come out and just ball next year. Last couple games I went to I spent a lot of time watching her warm up. Previous to that she had not even been warming up when I went earlier in the season. thought she looked pretty good. Thought she looked physically much stronger than in the past as well. She’s definitely been in the weight room putting in work. Glad they decided not to burn her redshirt this year. Hopefully she can keep adding strength and become more durable. Seems like a lot of these girls come out of hs with overuse injuries and just kind of beat up in general. Thinking about her and Damrow specifically but there are others too.

OK thought police. Do you only want roses and sunshine but not high wind gusts? Life doesn't work that way. The game happened and people are processing what happened in a way that's meaningful to them. As long as people are not making character attacks against another discussion should be appreciated by all as that is what this thread and to a larger degree, forum, entire purpose is😆 My dude, chill. If you’re frustrated about the loss, go for a run; go on a rampage in GTA 5; be like Rooney Mara in “A Ghost Story” and eat an entire pie while sobbing on the floor; vent in person with your friends who watch the sport. There are much better ways to release your frustrations than ranting on VolleyTalk or any Internet forum. Show some appreciation for this team and what they’ve accomplished. It’s been a successful season in spite of not reaching the highest goal. I see my last reply went right over your head 🤔

6-2 didn't lose this...bad passing did Looking to next year and beyond, a question I have is which is easier to help us pass better? Does a 5-1 provide additional backrow support and potential subs to help with passing support? We are tall and physical in a 6-2 but I’m interested to see if we stay in that system moving forward. I mean we'd have more ability to sub with DSs, but the concern going forward is of Sheff won't pull any of his DSs for a struggling one on the court, who steps up to play those roles? Transfer portal or the aforementioned shu and dam. We also need an oh2 that can pass.

"Yeh that's real controversial get your best performing player Smrek on the court much more!" How would running an MJ-Smerk 5-1 put "Smrek on the court much more"? Was she going to play backrow? In the 6-2 UW runs, Smrek plays three front row rotations, then gets subbed out. In a 5-1, Smrek would play three front row rotations, and then get subbed out. Even if its replacing Robinson with her its a significant better hitting percentage just by replacing Devyn. sub 200 vs over 500 for Smrek. And actually having Smrek serve for herself is a plus idea. So 4 out of 6. Then you're emliminating the high number of tight sets to the net Izzy is constantly putting forth getting a better connection with Booth. The embarrassing fact is Sheffield just sat there and took a beating when it is more than obvious actions he could have taken to stem the tide much sooner. What are you even talking about?!? The ONLY way that an MJ-Smrek 5-1 "replaces Robinson' is with MJ in the front row! It doesn't put Smrek in the front row instead of Robinson. it puts MJ in the front row instead of Robinson. Seriously, WTF ?!?

Yes, absolutely. 5-1 allows for more backrow subs. It is the 2019 "O-line" model when Tiffany Clark was the libero, and Lauren Barnes and ME Dodge were subbing in backrow. Really good floor defense and really good serve receive. But at the expense of the third front row attacker for when the setter rotates to the front: in terms of this year's lineup without position changes, etc, it would have required taking one or the other of the opposites out of the line-up, either Robinson or Smrek.

The setter across the front row would and it would significantly hurt us on the block and not do much to help us with defense in the back. Smrek serving is a plus but she also has to play back row d after she serves and off a good pass teams will target it right back at her. We were a 6-2 team this year for better or worse. It gave us our best chance by playing to our biggest strengths. And it got us to the Final Four where we ran into a team that is playing their best ball late in the year. Losing to Texas in the Final Four isn’t like losing to Indiana or someone on a Wednesday night. They are the defending national champs playing in the Final Four. Outside a bad start to the season, while they broke in a freshman setter, they have probably been a top 5 team. The serving last night was as poor as I recall seeing this year and really allowed Texas to tee off on us. I promise you they were not serving it easy on purpose on the coaches orders. Yes the coaching staff could have tried to make some adjustments but at some point the players need to play. Texas players were just better than ours last night.

What is hard for me to understand is how you think a 5-1 gets Smrek on the floor for any more amount of time or rotations. How you think it is Smrek "replacing" Robinson. What is hard for me to understand is what the heck you are even talking about. Unless you are talking about Smrek playing backrow, a 5-1 with MJ and Smrek means MJ on the floor for six rotations, three front and three back, along with Smrek in front for three and let's say Boyer in back for three. The people being "replaced" are Izzy in back by Boyer and Robinson in front by MJ. If that's what you wanted to put out against Texas in the 4th set last night, I'm glad that Sheffield is making the decisions.

To me playing a 5-1 vs 6-2 is somewhat dictated by the talent of your best players. There are advantages and disadvantages to running a 5-1 and/or 6-2. I just think a 6-2 requires for all of your players to be on their "A" games because it makes it harder to sub.

There’s a way to talk about the good and the bad from any match without disparaging a player or insinuating things like favoritism.

I already said 4 out of 6 spots Anna would be in including a spot to serve. You don't have to be an unmitigated @$$%*!* about things. I also already explained that Anna had over 500 hitting percentage vs sub 200 for Robinson when they were in for their rotations in a 6-2 yesterday. Sooo Sherlock, switching to a 5-1 also allows better flexibility with Having better setting (removing all of Izzys tight sets, better attack percentage from Smrek because now we are going with her and Hammill! Soooo Sherlock In a 5-1 which Robinson will NOT be part of the rotation and we will have better floor defense as we can even get Boyer playing some DS. And ALL of this helps put pressure on Texas.
