I liked Lola's personality. Definitely some fire there. She struggled to make plays while moving though imo, which she's going to have to do to get playing time. EDIT: Forgot to mention that her OOS setting was very good (except a few times where she tried to do too much, that's okay) both overhand and underhand. [...] ❝I liked Lola's personality. Definitely some fire there.❞ That, for sure. But you know? After a while, I got to feeling that all her post-play celebrating/pushing/shoving/manic grimacing was a... bit much. Choboy-esque, even. While on the one hand that stuff might be acceptable, after a week's practicing, amongst her age-group peers,- I think she's going to have to tone it down a bit around the Seniors and Vets at the Field House.

Omg, let the players have fun, its a game. Volleyball honestly needs more players that express emotion, it's how players become memorable. Carlini was well known for her emotions on the court. Caitlin Clark is obviously an amazing player, but the emotion she shows on the court, the showomenship also boost her profile and the appeal of WBB as a whole.

Choboy has never bothered me with her fire. What has bothered me is suggestions that our volleyball players have to be 'nice girls' and not ruffle any feathers.

The Badgers aren't a shy team; they show plenty of fire. If the "seniors and vets at The Field House" determine that any of the rookies need to tone it down, it will happen and we won't know anything about it.
Now, where is the depth at OH coming from? I hope we don't have to wait until May.

I actually like Lola's celebration a lot. It reminds me of Barnes. What I didn't like was that she acted like Pierce was her best buddy. They are not and will not be. Duh.

I like fire but I also like good sportsmanship. And if Lola wants to be besties with Pierce for real, then good for her. I'm sure with as competitive as she is it wouldn't get in the way of her digging any Pierce balls one bit when they are competing vs one another.

I highly disagree. I hope they had a great time with everyone. I want Lola or Charlie to be the first call when one of these players inevitably portals a year or two from now.

? They already signed their NLIs, I don't think there were any worries they weren't going to come. Now for the 2025s, getting a bit worried about Wardlow seeing how desperate Nebraska is suddenly for a MB and Wardlow is right in their backyard. Hopefully she stays loyal to the program who offered her first.

Many times players have friends on opposing teams, even rival teams e.g.,Booth. Nothing wrong with that.

But the same can be said with a lot of other players in general.

Those pre-college relationships have always been a factor bringing quality transfers to the Badgers. Lauren Gillis & Taylor Morey were club teammates with Tionna Williams; Tiffany Clark payed club for years with Molly Haggerty; Clark & Barnes were High School teammates and Barnes was Rettke’s club team Libero. All those transfers felt more like homecomings rather than bringing in an unknown from the outside.

As long as there’s a clear path to playing time here, it shouldn’t be hard to point out how Cook’s been directly recruiting over his current roster with incoming transfers. How Cook is approaching the transfer portal is going to bite him in the ass down in the near future.
