Wow that’s a great video! So many new faces. Love the New Jersey too! Agree that it's a great video and also about the new faces. Kept going back to the roster to try to match up a couple I couldn't figure out! If I have it right, I think 5 were not featured in this: Meitzler, Prescott, Gibson, Whittingstall and Stojanovic. Could be wrong, of course. Also like the jerseys. I do think they wore those same ones during 2022 season at times, though, but they only had these gold ones that year. Maybe this season there will be black ones and white ones to go with the gold ones. They are sharp. And kudos to Iowa for, I believe, being the 1st B1G school to publish start times for all of their home matches (and even all pre-conference away matches) on their website. hawkeyesports.com/sports/wvball/schedule/

I looked at both of the venues. The first one (for Liberty match) looks like a gorgeous facility! The 2nd one (for Providence match) looks like it might be in a high school gym or something. So, they will be in two very different types of gyms for those two matches. Great way to start the season with a cool road trip like that...they will need all the quick bonding time as a very new team as they can get.

Just noticed that they have listed Vesty as an OH instead of MH. Knew she spent considerable time at OH this past spring. Love having that versatility with so many of our players this year. Rosa does put up a formidable block, which could be very beneficial on the outside. Believe she is also a solid passer, given her time playing sand/beach in NZ. All will be so interesting to see how things shake out during camp as to who emerges from the pack and in which role(s).

After Vesty played Leftside in spring I wondered if she was making that switch permanently. Good catch. She played solid the little I saw. And that position is the one with the least experience. So makes sense. The gold uniforms are fire. I like the black mixed in on the sleeves. Players are posting on Insta several pics. They look great.

Seems like a great kid but if they need her to play on the outside, the season will be similar to last year.

Was making some assumptions about her back row abilities based off of her beach play history. Have never seen her in back row so this is helpful to know. So, given this, who do we think from the OH corps has the ability to effectively play 6-rotations other than Urquhart? So many unknowns. And also, wonder if the staff would ever dabble with the new 2 libero rule. Along with Galles, thinking Marquardt is going to impress from the onset and after last year, we sure know we need much more stable, effective passing if any chance of having a better season this fall. And speaking of back row, sure would still think we need to add another DS/L for 2025 and beyond.

She's not ready to serve receive at the level needed for this team to be competitive. A ds/l is needed in 26 for sure. Seems most they were following have committed to other schools. Reagan Turk from Indiana might be a possibility. Hard to say with the freshman. I would add that in the Black and Gold scrimmage last year, Worden stood out for her passing even though she was still rehabbing her knee. Hopeful that someone does this year as well.

Would also love to see Worden have a good year. Talk about someone who has stayed loyal to a program through a LOT! Coaching change (was recruited by Vicki B, but stuck with Iowa, as did Deery and Lombardi as well), injury, redshirt year...LET's GO, ALYSSA!

After taking a second look, I think both matches for Iowa will be at the Mario Morales Coliseum. It's confusing because on the 31st it looks like the D3 teams are playing at the same time in another location (Academia Del Perpetuo Socorro).
