After proving you did in fact say that Uluave was going to be a DS her whole career, you double down on your stupidity. This is why no one takes anything you say seriously. You’re like the idiot from Waterboy, “That’s the best hit since Joe Montana.” “Joe Montana was a Quarterback you idiot.” “I said Joe Montania.” lol you’re a joke and no one cares about your opinion. You’re a clown.🤡 Well, I can see you can't read passing stats. Try learning them. When your elite (I would even settle for just "good'' libero at this point for BYU) actually enters the top 50 D-1 passers in the country, then let me know. You said that I said Mia Lee was the best player on the team - now you see that you made that up. I said Uluave will be no better than a pretty good DS at BYU. They can put the L jersey on her all they want, it still won't make her a good passer. Just because the passers on the team are worse than Lulu doesn't make her a top Libero. The passing stats will give an unbiased look at her skills. Neither your defense of her average passing or my opinion that she won't ever be an elite Libero is more important that the stats. You must be her dad?? You're wrong again, like always. I'm not sure what your objective is on this forum, but you're one of the most despised people here because of your hateful statements and on each player and coach. I would definitely hate to be a parent of one of these players to read your hateful comments. You have a horrible heart, and I hope you are never permitted around children. I’m just calling out your ignorance because you made bold statements as if they’re concrete facts yet you’re simply pulling facts out of your ass. As I already stated, you are a clown.

I mean, how does he know about conversations heather has with players? Either total lies or he has some connection. I'm confident marn has zero inside information. They say so many things that are demonstrably false and easily disproven that I find it impossible to believe that they actually have the kind of inside knowledge of the program they pretend to. Especially since there are other posters over the years who I think actually did have some inside knowledge that refuted marn's claims. This is the thing that bothers me the most about marn. If they just had terrible opinions about BYU volleyball, that would be one thing. Annoying but relatively harmless. But pretending to be an insider when they aren't is malicious in my view. Okay bbg, for the sake of discussion why don't you just start listing my "demonstrably false and easily disproven" items that I have listed over the years. Let's just start there. Go ahead and start listing them for this whole board to see/read. From the "so many things" you mentioned above, you must have a lot of them?! Go ahead and take your time so you don't miss or forget any of the demonstrably false and easily disproven things I have said.

You are stating your opinion and I am entitled to mine. But the passing stats back me up and not you. In my writing here I clearly stated that Lee was the best athlete on this BYU team. You somehow read what I wrote, as Lee is the best player on the team? Rather than say you were wrong .... you go off on personal attacks. You think Lulu will be one of all-time BYU greats and that is your opinion ... not a fact. My opinion is that she a quality DS level talent and not an elite level Libero talent. Both of these are opinions, which I presume you know the definition of? However, we have enough passing stats and enough of a body of work right now to tell, at least at this point, that she isn't an average L yet and no where near elite. If you don't like the numbers then complain to the NCAA. Or go get your clown outfit on and see what "facts" are on your side.

Yet, you are reading them enough to know that there were 7 consecutive posts lol! Keep up the good work bbg! See how insignificant and uneducated you are?! Uluave was heavily recruited as a Libero despite having previously played OH/6R in high school and at club. Six of the teams that came after her are now ranked in the top 20, including Stanford/Baylor and SMU, where her elder sister concluded her final college year. Again, your opinions are as ridiculous as your hatred for The Bowers and Heather. I still have to laugh at the logic on this post of yours loversrock. Do you honestly believe that the passing stats of any NCAA player is made better or worse by who they were allegedly recruited by? How insignificant and uneducated, to use your words, is that statement of yours? Where Lulu's sister concluded her final college year has what to do Lulu's passing stats or anything else she does on the BYU court? You are just ranting with zero backup documentation on passing efficiency. You make no sense. I understand you don't agree with me on her upside as a Libero. That is fine. I am not calling you a clown or saying your opinions are ridiculous. I just disagree with them.

On July 20, 2022, you stated your insistence that Whitney Bower was only 5'6" (a claim that you stopped making later, to your credit): "You are right about her not blocking better regardless of the height listed in the program/website, but at 5'6" she would be a quick scouting report blip by any opposing coach. That is the reason!" and "Well Bower is 5' 6" as I and many other coaches have stood right by her. BYU lists her at 5'9" for competitive reasons. But she is no taller than 5'6 " and "... because the pro Bower crowd will never admit that the girl is 5'6" and can't block well ..." Her Atlanta Vibe profile lists her at 5'9" and lists Hiapo at 5'7" (which is what she was listed at at Arizona and at BYU). BYU got the last 2 girls through the transfer portal after they were trained by another program and overlooked by BYU." McComber was not overlooked by BYU out of HS. In her “Her Y” podcast interview on Nov 29, 2023, she says she was recruited by BYU out of HS, but chose Washington State because she felt more comfortable there as a Protestant Christian (at the time). Alex Bower is at least 2” taller than K Johnson who is listed at 5’8” (as well as when she was at Utah), and almost as tall as #21 Macy Short who is listed at 6’ even. I think you have some good insights (like W Bower was a very good setter but could have been elite as a DS, as well as others), but your inability to be objective with regards to Bowers hurts you, and your credibility with respect to unverifiable politics and team dynamics is hurt when the things that ARE verifiable turn out to be false.

Edit: Also, Whitney Bower is really strong. She was benching 145 for sets of five and making it look very easy.

There's been so much conversation about proving ones points or theories. I'm not really interested in that.
I still wonder what rubric or scale is being used to determine Lee as the best athlete? It intrigues me as to what makes one the best athlete. Is it jump, lateral speed, court vision... what? Each position requires such varying athletic abilities that I just don't understand how one athlete, Lee in this case, is best.
I beg the question that the best athlete is the one who performs the specific skill the best. And if Lee has not beat out strong or kemavor in the middle and prior or bobik on the right, how is she the best athlete on the team. Inquiring minds want to know.
Also all this banter about ulilave. Wow, a little grace here might be appropriate. She is only a freshman starting in one of the top conferences in the country. I'd say that it's fair to say you may want better passing stats or better foot speed or something like that but to diminish, put down and defame her is beyond unnecessary or even objective.
I'd like to say that I am seeing some strong improvements in byu as a whole defensively in the back court. I'm starting to see better reads resulting in faster movt. It's translating to longer rallies. Growth is happening on the backcourt defense. I'm also seeing quicker adjustment to very good serving teams in the primary passers across the board. It's resulting in a better s/r receive game and is exciting.
I think ululave struggles with depth perception in serve reception but is turning into a solid libero this season. I do still want more options in this spot as I think ululave is the only true libero out there. I'm hoping tingey '25 is a tru lib. Anyone know much about her.
Lastly a.bower is doing a great job as a freshman setter and i think she has a high ceiling. The convos about damuni I found interesting because I always considered her a good 6-2 setter. I just don't think she has the size to block and have a high release point needed to set for a ranked program. Her size is undesirable at byu as long as they run a 5-1 and I think they really like a 5-1, at least historically they do. So I think Damuni has found the right fit with utah state who runs a 6-2. She will be successful there as a setter. However she is a beast defensively and has a good serve so I wish we could have seen her as a ds for the rs. But im sure that would have been a hard role to fill after having a very successful club and hs career.

Wow! Socalsand and bbg95: I was a little nervous that you might have the time to make up a long laundry list of the numerous falsehoods that I have supposedly perpetuated about the BYU women's vb program. Thankfully, it is plain to see for all the contributors and readers on this forum, the only one you can come up with is the exaggerated height published by BYU on Whitney Bower. She is not 5'9" and everyone in the volleyball world knows it. Except, evidently, both of you. bbg's insistence that Whitney is 5'9" has been addressed by me before. Whitney's first professional year on the Vibe basically saw no playing time for this wonderful Olympic/national team level setter. Just for the benefit of all our readers I am going to publish the Atlanta vibe link for the 2024 season that will allow everyone to see what the Vibe list her height as. FYI, I have had a first hand conversation the Atlanta Vibe coach. The conversation wasn't a Bower only conversation, but suffice it to say that she confirmed that Whitney Bower is 5'6.5 with her shoes on. Because almost all programs stretch the truth a little on players' heights (we all know this right?) that the decision was made to round up on Whitney's height to the published height in the program. See below link: provolleyball.com/teams/atlanta-vibe/roster/atlanta-vibe-roster/players/whitney-bowerJust so you both don't think the 2024 rostered height of the Alanta Vibe was a mistake or doctored by me in anyway .... I thought you would like the link for the 2025 roster: provolleyball.com/teams/atlanta-vibe/roster/2025-rosterbbg95 and socalsand, I hope that this information doesn't ruin your day or make you think less of Heather and Co for listing Whitney at 5'9" so that she wouldn't be targeted as much when she was on the front row. It is not the end of the world that Whitney is only 5'6" barefoot (actually a little under according to the assistant coach on the Vibe) she is a good setter with all that said. She was not a great setter and Meyer was/is better. Imagine if Meyer was allowed to set and Whitney was the starting DS (maybe L)? I actually think Bower is a tremendous athlete and could have played L with proper training. What a team BYU would have had. Coaching evaluations and decisions .... again. Hiapo listed at same height at Bower .... just in case you missed that one too! 5'7" rounding up with shoes on!

But im sure that would have been a hard role to fill after having a very successful club and hs career. Lee has the best verticle jump on the team by far. She is also the quickest in footspeed. My opinion is that she is the best over all athlete on the team. If you don't agree with me ... that is fine. If anyone out there doesn't agree with me ..... tell me who is the best athlete on the team. Great athletes can adjust to new roles way faster that others. That is why I think Lee should be given the Opp position and allowed to learn it. Prior was much better Opp than Grimmer but she is not elite or even a little better than average. Maybe some arm swing adjustments might help but she isnt a great jumper ... she does have some lateral quickness. She is a natural MB and I hope she finds her way back there next season. No one said that the best athlete performs a specific skill best. Don't know where you came up with that begging question? No one is defaming Lulu. I said that I believe she can play DS at a high level but not Libero. That is an opinion and not defaming. I was immediately jumped on by her dad that "Lulu is on her way to becoming one of the all-time BYU greats at Libero. I pulled back the reins on that comment because her passing numbers don't go there at all. My opinion is that she lacks quick lateral speed (which is more concerning than her depth perception issue on s/r). Sometimes experience can rectify that issue but experience and coaching can't correct footspeed. Your comment that Lulu is the only true L out there is also problematic imo. She looks like the L because Miller can't pass well, Johnson hasn't been given enough time, and Billiter can't handle the position well. Lulu is the cream of the roster at the passing positions but don't let that fool you. Comparing BYU passers to other BYU passers will get you in trouble against good teams. Lastly, I predict that Damuni will eventually run a 5-1 at USU. They have had problems identifying and recruiting setter the last 3 years and Rob has shown me zero ability to keep and retain setters either. But he got a good one. Damumi jumps higher and blocks better than A Bower by a long shot. She also has a higher release point. All of your observations on Damuni are off. Bower will have the advantage of having better players surrounding her but that is her only advantage over Damuni.

Here’s a painful stat: BYU has 5 losses in the 5th set by 2 points. Yes, very painful! And the theory that A Bower is just able to "push through" better than Damuni so BYU kept Bower and forced Damuni out the door is crazy. I have one more thing to say about the Damuni departure. She was told after Spring that she wouldn't start or play over Bower. She was told that it might be better for her to explore other options by a member of the staff. If she wasn't told that info she probably would have stayed. The question we need to ask ourselves is why would a coach push that type of girl out of the program? Why not keep her in reserve just in case? It makes no sense from a competitive standpoint at all. It is personal with Heather and that is concerning. If Bower goes down ... Heather is going to get up in the morning a look directly in the mirror at the reason we aren't deep in the setting position with elite level talent.

Oh but we do have a successful program. That doesn't mean we have the best program we could have? I don't think I care enough to tell the AD. But, I can state what I agree with or have seen while watching. If I had a child in this situation though.... believe me... I would be the first one knocking down his door. So you believe Marn's conspiracy theories? Of course fans can talk negatively and positively about whst they see in matches. The wild speculation about how starters are chosen and who performs best in practices people don't see and the best players being on the bench because somehow the Bowers are in charge [is that still the theory]...that's all gross misconduct if true. If marn has any evidencd for any of this a report should be filed with the AD. bkedane - I know that the AD's office is aware of the issue. The Texas girl's were turned down as was the Creighton girl all of whom went on to star for better teams. Coaches are going to miss on some recruits, I am not going to get on BYU for every recruit they pass on that turns out better than girls they picked. Eventually really bad recruiting will show up in wins and losses. I am not getting on Heather for misses per se - just when it is year over year over year over year in the passing dept. What are the conspiracy theories you reference? Please tell. My harsh judgements deal with playing time and recruiting mostly with leaving girls on the roster who don't deserve to be there. When you recruit 2 girls for the same position you need to play the better one and don't hide the better one on the bench or I will call them out. Eden Bower appeared to be favored from the get go. She had long leashes and everyone around her had short leashes and it went on and on for 2 years. When it became apparent that Heather couldn't make her a legit player after 2 years .... what did she do? This is only rumor (so I am not claiming it is fact) but I was told that she quit the team and moved up to Idaho to be with Whitney who is no longer going to be playing pro vb in Atlanta. This is unconfirmed and I want to make sure that everyone knows this is conjecture. If true, it shows you the make up of Eden Bower. The other unsubstantiated comment i was told in a DM is that Whitney was told she wouldn't be seeing any playing time in Atlanta, just like last season. So there you go. I could be totally wrong on this and I have about 20% faith in it. It does fit some of what I am hearing however. The AD over BYU vb is Santiago - the one guy who was in the middle of the mess with men's basketball program and coach Rose forfeiting all the bb wins back in the day because Santiago didn't do any job at all of supervising an out of control Nick Emery/social media accounts and a few boosters. I have always thought it very very weird that when BYU has a big vb win that the coaches run into the locker room and get showered with water and do dances etc but the only school ever who sends an athletic director into the line of dancing and getting showered with water is BYU and Santiago. It is just really weird behavior that is allowed and tolerated. I just put 2+2 together and things like you talk about going to the AD .... are probably going to go right to Santiago and then in the round file basket behind his desk. Again, if you watch the locker room antics you will see what I mean. It raises red flags for me.

Photographs of them together clearly show that Whitney is likely 2 inches taller than Hiapo. Why insist that she is only 5'6"? Also, on Feb 6, 2024 you stated: "…McComber and Hiapo who thrived. And with regards to Alex Bower, you stated on October 28, 2022: "Alex Bower is 5'9" and Damuni is 5'8'." Look at this year's team picture. I think you have some good insights (like W Bower was a very good setter, but could have been elite as a DS, as well as others), but your inability to be objective with regards to Bowers hurts you, and your credibility with respect to unverifiable politics and team dynamics is hurt when the things that ARE verifiable turn out to be false. Yeah, I don't have time to catalogue all of marn's falsehoods, but the height ones are very easy to prove. I have talked to Whitney Bower at the gym on a few occasions, and she is 5'9". That's a couple inches shorter than I am, so I can tell the difference between a girl who is 5'9" and one who is 5'6". Plus, like you said, she is also listed at that height by Atlanta, and pictures next to other people make it apparent roughly how much taller or shorter they are. Edit: Also, Whitney Bower is really strong. She was benching 145 for sets of five and making it look very easy. Just need to point out that this bbg95 post comment is simply false. Some would call it a lie. The Atlanta listing of Whitney Bowers height isn't 5'9" as I have shown to all and now I call into question the truthfulness of bbg's comments that she has stood side by side with Bower and knows what 5'9" looks like. Maybe you, bbg, are in the same camp of exaggerating your height? The Vegas odd's are increasingly in your favor that this is true now that you have a track record of telling falsehoods...... socalsand - the BYU way of recruiting almost all girls is to send out fliers and calenders through the mail. The more often you get them the more that they are interested. Sometimes texts go out to everyone or forms to fill out on silly things ... just to stay connected. McComber says she wasn't offered a scholarship by BYU. I believer her. Hiapo and McComber were trained at other schools ..... not BYU. Johnson is 5'6" and not 5'8" .... she might be about 5'6.5" if you get down to it, but you have no credibility on height of these girls now. You might just want to quit while you are ahead. Hiapo was the better passer btw and the biggest miss for BYU. Heather didn't like her athletic ability way back in the day. One of many bad signs that Heather isn't a good evaluator of passing skills or upside.

Once again, marnvbc2 is full of it. If one scrolls down the page to Whitney Bower's bio-- her height is listed as 5'9". It's just the banner that has the typo. Yes, typos do happen. provolleyball.com/teams/atlanta-vibe/roster/atlanta-vibe-roster/players/whitney-bower The 'marnvbc2' poster likes to make noise about anything BYU-related; Heather, the Bowers, Lee, Damuni, and now Uluave. He uses the noise to get attention and then once in a while, he inserts a plug here and there for his daughter K. Johnson. Where were you this season marnvbc2 when Johnson shanked so many balls? Any criticism for her? I suspect marnvbc2-- aka Derek Johnson--is posting garbage about Uluave and hoping she reads it to attack her mental game.
