It looks like the VT poll and Top 16 reveal both have 7 Big 10 teams and only 1 SEC team in the Top 16. Preseason the AVCA numbers were 5 Big Ten and 4 SEC. Surprising? No, because the SEC is terrrrrible this year Putting Florida back in my poll this week took so much strength 😭

No shade to Cline, but didn’t anyone see Emmi Sellman and her 27 kills almost single handedly beat PSU? Wasn't she pretty average in her other game, though?

As of today, nine B1G teams will make the tournament. I’m not sure that improves as teams are nearly half-way through conference play. Does the league need to establish parameters on non-conference play? Does the league need to structure B1G matches to bolster RPI? UCLA, Indiana, even Michigan at 15-4 are currently on the outside looking in. Some of the non-conference matches were ill-advised, however, the biggest issue was that the conference didn’t win enough in the non-conference to collectively lift the conference. We could be talking about 11+ teams in, frankly I think 9 in given how average we were in the non-conference is pretty impressive. Mathches were the Big 10 team should have won:UCLA v. UC Davis UCLA v. Tennessee Indiana v. Notre Dame Ohio State v. Wright State Ohio State v. South Florida Michigan State v. Northern Colorado Michigan State v. Western Michigan Iowa v. St. Louis Iowa v. St. Thomas Rutgers v. Binghampton 5 set matches the Big 10 team lost:Illinois v. Missouri Minnesota v. Stanford Minnesota v. TCU Minnesota v. Baylor Michigan v. North Carolina Maryland v. New Hampshire Rutgers v. Arkansas-Little Rock Northwestern v. LBSU Northwestern v. Pacific Northwestern v. UNLV Matches we had no business playing in the first place:Indiana v. Texas Rutgers v. Arkansas Rutgers v. Miami Rutgers v. Colorado Northwestern v. LBSU (twice) Northwestern v. Notre Dame (twice) If we won all the matches we shouldn't have lost, picked up 50% more of the matches that went 5 sets, and swapped and won 50% of the matches we had no business playing in the first place, the conference would be at +20 more wins. Oh the RPI things that could have happened this year....shame.

Rutgers and Northwestern for sure, Minnesota, meh, they are probably only a -1 overall since they got a win over Texas, which was unexpected. Next in line would probably be Iowa, who probably scheduled "ok" for the team they had, but just didn't come away with enough non-conference wins, and then some combination of Michigan State and Ohio State who collectively scheduled a few too many matches where the loss was either 50/50 or higher as well as losing matches they should have won.

As Lauren Carlini said, Charlie is “as cool as a cucumber.” Growing up in Hermosa Beach, California, she had the luxury to develop her skills on the beaches of SoCal. This past weekend, Charlie made some plays that screamed beach!! I love seeing outdoor translate into the indoor game— the creativity, the smart plays, and the variety of shots. Who are some other Big Ten players with a beach background? Delaney Maple from Indiana, according to At the Net Kate Reilly from UCLA.

Go Julia Hunt! But the top 3 passers? 😭 they're so good, and them being on the court together only makes passing easier
