How often do 5-1 setters win sow when they’re under 10 aps on the weekend? And FOTW... it was a choice. like to be fair, i also find it strange that Andi won dpow on 1.57 bps. Seems like some of the choices this week were weird to say the least

Wisconsin: 2-0 (3-0 Indiana; 3-0 Purdue) Charlie Fuerbringer (FRESHMAN) - 11.7 aps (TEAM: .271), 0.8 aces per set, 1.0 bps
Penn State: 2-0 (3-2 UCLA; 3-1 USC) Izzy Starck (FRESHMAN) - 9.8 aps (TEAM: .240), 1.4 kps (.423), 3.3 dps
Cool Girl Mania is in full bloom. We'll see who comes out on top when Penn State comes to The Dungeon. Charlie and The Badger Block are waiting ....

Also why and how did Andi Jackson win the defensive award with 1.6 bps on the weekend?? Seems rather ridiculous if the awards are given based on stats.
These players all had higher bps than AndI Caroline Crawford - 1.7 bps Carter Booth - 3.0 bps Lourdes Myers - 1.8 bps Natalie Robinson (FRESHMAN) - 1.9 bps

I don’t think it would make her “ineligible,” but it could definitely make people look past her when voting. I think they wanted to award Jackson something based on her match against Illinois, but the Michigan match took her out of the regular POW conversation

I don't know about eligible but do think this does downgrade a player's chances. I would think about giving DPOW to Robinson though. A 10 block match v Washington is pretty good - but it's Rutgers and they lost, so.

They are often including offence in the defensive award category. The categories are kind of arbitrary.

I think the Big 10 should model the SEC’s awards, where there’s a separate Offensive POW and any of the OPOW, DPOW, SOTW, and FOTW can be picked as player of the week.

Could be - but Smrek had 2.0 bps for the weekend with a win at Purdue (not even counting her offensive numbers for the weekend which were pretty good - noting this is a defensive award)

Ugh Izzy Starck Freshman AND Setter of the week… Wisconsin: 2-0 (3-0 Indiana; 3-0 Purdue) Charlie Fuerbringer (FRESHMAN) - 11.7 aps (TEAM: .271), 0.8 aces per set, 1.0 bps Penn State: 2-0 (3-2 UCLA; 3-1 USC) Izzy Starck (FRESHMAN) - 9.8 aps (TEAM: .240), 1.4 kps (.423), 3.3 dps Someone pls explain why they would pick Izzy before I riot back to back double doubles, back to back career highs in kills, played against 2 AVCA Ranked/RV teams (Wisc played 1) I mean, I would have voted Charlie but there's the reasoning.

Y'all..... this is ridiculous.
I could maybe take Hanson (though Colyer had a better hit %/overall stats and Hudson had more kills per set) but overlooking Fuerbringer when Penn State did not have great matches out west (yes, they won, but statistically they were pretty ehhh) and all the other middles (not counting Booth) or even Schumacher's performance just seems like they phoned it in.
(Also, they have got to get rid of this "Only award players from teams who win" mindset when it is literally Player of the Week, not Team of the Week!)
