Is there anyone other than Franklin even in contention, at this point, for B1G player of the year? I haven’t watched Illinois, but could Terry possibly be in the conversation? I’d “shortlist” the following: Illinois: Raina Terry Indiana: Camryn Haworth Minnesota: Melani Shaffmaster, Julia Hansen Michigan: Allison Jacobs Nebraska: Andi Jackson, Bergen Reilly Ohio State: Emily Londot Oregon: Mimi Colyer Penn State: Jess Mruzik Purdue: Eva Hudson, Raven Colvin USC: Mia Tuaniga Washington: Kierstyn Barton Wisconsin: Sarah Franklin, Devyn Robinson

Julia Hunt is having quite the season so far as a Freshman. Also, Mosher for the Illini could be a factor, depending on conference play.

Julia Hunt’s been great, but they’ll never give CPOY to a freshman

She was FOY and POY in 2006 then POY again her senior year.

I wanna say yes, but someone who’s followed longer than I have can assess the awards history: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Ten_Conference_volleyball

I foresee her stats being a little lower by the end of the season. Should be a lock for all B1G freshman team. Serious regional freshman of the year potential.

Does regional freshman ever go to redshirt freshman, if so, the Oregon setter could be competition, but Hunt will definitely be a favorite there

They used to split regions based on conference, but with how things are now, no clue how the regions will be divided.

Mosher's stats are always fun to see! I think Mosher should focus on setting this year versus being all things to all people. Don’t get me wrong, I love watching her play but her inconsistency and being stretched too many ways is not helping her performance this season so far. Terry is a big favourite of mine sadly so many errors and not the same skill and consistency as others on this list , but let’s see how the season goes.

Ok, last week to make a statement Matches to Watch: Penn State - Pitt Nebraska- Stanford, Louisville Illinois - Missouri Wisconsin - Texas A&M, Marquette Purdue - Creighton, Kansas Washington - LBSU, Pepperdine, Oregon State Michigan - North Carolina, Duke USC - LMU Maryland - UCF Indiana - Notre Dame (x2) Iowa - Drake, St. Louis Mighigan State - North Carolina, Duke Rutgers - Old Dominion Northwestern - Northern Illinois (x2) 24 matches here. It would be great if we could win 19+, it could be the difference of another NCAA tournament bid for the conference. Everything else on the schedule should be W's!!!! ...well nevermind. Already took losses to Pitt, Missouri, Creighton, Kansas, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Old Dominion, St. Louis

Shout out to the newest member of the Big 10, the Washington Huskies. The dawgs scheduled appropriately, and won all of the non-conference matches.

Special shout-out to UCLA too for losing to UC Davis 🙃 On the docket for today: Minnesota vs Chicago State (10am PT) Purdue vs Tulsa (10:30am PT) Iowa vs Drake (12pm PT) UCLA @ Cal (1pm PT) Maryland vs UCF (3pm PT) Michigan @ Duke (3:30pm PT) Illinois @ Lipscomb (4pm PT) Wisconsin vs Texas A&M (5pm PT BTN) USC vs UCSD (7pm PT) A good number of these should be winnable, but UCLA, Maryland, and Michigan pulling out wins would be a big plus
