I think Starck is leading the entire conference with weekly awards. Could it be possible she wins setter, freshman, and player of the year??
(Yes, I know it won’t happen, but in theory, it should)

(Yes, I know it won’t happen, but in theory, it should) I don’t think it’s close for setter imo It’s stark. Maybe shaff if Minnesota does better than people thought? But it should be stark. Freshman is easily hers POY, can’t see it. It’ll go to mzurik before her. I want it to be andi Jackson tho

Bergen is going to get SOY regardless of who deserves it. Nebraska is easily finishing 1 in the conference (at worst 2) and she's the returning winner. Plus because they can so easily just give Izzy FOY they won't feel like they have to give her SOY

Was it Seliger-Swenson? Yeah, I am fully convinced she won’t get POTY, but with what she’s doing, I think she should be in the conversation - regardless of the other awards she will more than likely get.

Oh, Em, no. Not the Bergen bias. Izzy >> Berg. Then give FOY to Julia Hunt or Favor or such. I mean you can give her FOY And SOY, if you have to. Also, right now, Z has better numbers than Lexi (except maybe passing?), and I would vote her above Lexi if awards were given out right now

Zeynep is #1 at 4.33 digs/set.

They need to just give out a defender of the year and libero of the year award. The defensive award does not need to be exclusive to liberos or non-liberos though (see someone like Shaffmaster or Zeynep)
Digs/set is a terrible metric to judge liberos by.
the best defender in the conference right now is Raven Colvin. I would also argue Melani.
The best libero in the conference is Lexi. Lexi is not the best defender in the conference.

But obviously only one week in the books so things could change.

POY and COY are pretty much spot on. Franklin could have competition with Mruzik or Hudson, but it’s hers to lose. KSC has a very good Penn State team this year, so COY is also hers to lose unless Penn State takes a nose dive. Setter could go to one of Reilly, Starck (if they’re willing to award back-to-back Freshmen), and Shaffmaster. While Starck’s putting up great numbers, I docile see them just giving her FOTY. Reilly won the award as a freshman last year because there wasn’t much competition (Wisconsin ran a 6-2, Penn State and Minnesota were messy, Purdue also had a freshman, and no other teams made the tournament). DPOY is contentious since it’s a de facto “Libero of the year award.” Colvin should be in the convo (as Avid said), but it’ll likely be between Z and Lexi.

Her digs/set numbers haven’t been staggering the past couple years and she was still a 1st and 2nd team AA. Digs/set are just one statistical value when assessing liberos..
