HC Erin Virtue was the featured guest this week on the miSHEgan podcast where she gave a lengthy and informative interview. Some highlights: - Her Olympic medal is a replica that Team USA purchased for the coaching staff after the Tokyo Olympics - The Paris Olympics end on August 11, she plans on being in Ann Arbor for report day on August 12 - 20 game conference schedule in 2024, playing each team once and 3 teams twice (I assume OSU, MSU and ??) - Playing Pitt (!) in an exhibition match at home in August - Non-conference schedule includes another trip to Duke and UNC; a tournament at Mississippi State that includes Notre Dame; and two home tournaments with competition TBD - She confirmed that there is one "vacancy" available on the roster; sounds like an available scholarship - It doesn't sound like any of the graduating seniors are returning, including Hannah Grant - Allison Jacobs is returning and has two years of eligibility remaining She also goes into a detailed description of her journey as both a player and coach, well worth the listen.

Thanks for the rundown. Didn't realize Jacobs had two years left. Also, not mentioned in your post, but I'm impressed that not a single player portalled out. Says something about how they feel about the staff.

At least Virtue finally came clean on the ludicrous lie about “her gold medal”- it never existed-coaches don’t receive medals. Being one of the assistant coaches on the USNTthat won the Olympic gold medal wasn’t good enough for her-she had to proclaim that she had “her” gold medal on display in her office. So, she has a fake medal hanging in her office that she continually brags about “winning” to gullible recruits and parents. She has a fake “gold medal” that she bought as some souvenir …. Michigan was not a great program under the Rosen’s but it was a very good and stable program for 24 years, that made the NCAA tournament 19 times-there is no reason this roster is as bad as it is today. But you get what you pay for, and when you buy a part-time coach, this is what quickly happens. Sorry #FakeMedalsForEVERYONE PS there are coaches on the staff’s of Nebraska and OSU who have actual gold medals that were won as athletes… if you care about those things…

I'd disagree with your assessment of the program under the Rosens, though you were only one letter off. Lose the "b" in "stable" and you'll be there.

http://www.instagram.com/p/C3TDvdosPHK Spring Schedule is here. I spy the Grand Rapids HOF Showcase on the same day as a Grand Rapids Rise home game. I really hope the game times don't conflict.Edit: I read the accompanying release, Michigan vs. Notre Dame at 11AM and Michigan vs. Michigan State at 3PM. Then the Rise match vs. Vegas is at 7PM at Van Andel Arena. Looking forward to a full day of volleyball that day.

I like the home/away matchups, glad we get to see the MSU and OSU games played twice. Bummed I won't get to see Indiana, Nebraska, and Penn State at home though, but maybe Purdue/Indiana will be a weekend that I could drive to see.

I too think it will be a rough year for UM in the newly expanded B1G. 7 or 8 league wins would be great!
