Allison Jacobs tried out as a libero for the Open Program and made the final top group. I was pretty impressed by what I saw of her. Is there a chance she could be wearing the libero jersey next season?

Is there a chance she could be wearing the libero jersey next season? She missed the entire 2023 fall season due to shoulder surgery. Perhaps there are still limitations on hitting for her. At any rate, it's great to hear she's exploring ways to contribute, and is doing so well at it! |

Where did Lauren Evans go? Did I miss something? She switched her commitment to Butler last summer, who was likely offering a better deal. |

https://www.instagram.com/p/C43z5RugXQ9 Fun day in Kzoo for Michigan's first spring match against Western Michigan. The Wolverines have 10 players on their spring roster as they wait for the influx of freshmen this fall. The big news was the return of Allison Jacobs who spent 2023 recovering from shoulder surgery. She led the team with 16 15 kills (by my unofficial count) and was particularly effective out of the back row. Vaulet and Boney also reached double digits. Passing was sketchy, but it is spring. There is opportunity for the incoming freshmen to have an impact this fall, especially on the left pin and in the back row. I've become a big fan of WMU's setter Logan Case and their libero Andelyn Simkins. Case runs such a fast offense and Blue had a tough time keeping up early in this match. But Coach Virtue and team made adjustments and turned things around in S2. Not sure why they didn't play a 5th set? Ah, well. It was great to see the team in action again and looking forward to continued improvement. Go Blue! |
