Hey Wolverine fans! Here's a thread for Friday night's match between Illinois and Michigan: Let me know if you'd expect a different Michigan lineup than the one I've got in the OP. That would be the Michigan lineup I would predict based on last weekend. But we've also seen the lineup have Kendyl Reaugh front row / Ella Demetrician back row in the second outside hitter spot. Thanks for the info! I’ll incorporate Kendyl in that lineup when I get to a computer tomorrow. |

Conqu'ring Heroes Podcast 143 - Erin Virtue editionShort 20min conversation with Jon Jansen. Touched a little on Paris, focused a lot on last weekend (USC/UCLA 5-setters), dealing with travel/time zones, overall strength of B1G volleyball, and upcoming big weekend against Illinois & Ohio State. Nice conversation about her time as a player at Illinois and good memories there. Also we hear how she is pleased with the development of the entire freshman class, even those not getting a lot of playing time yet.

Popping in to send my Michigan pals some love.
I watched the match live last night and was devastated when Jacobs went down. I know she's been a brilliant spark of energy for the team this year. I'm hoping the injury wasn't as bad as it looked. Especially since she had to sit out all last year with the shoulder recovery.
I have faith that Coach Virtue and the team will adjust and continue to build on their journey back to the NCAA tournament!

But hoping she makes it back soon!! ohh god! Same thing happened to Barton for UDub last night. These players are getting more injury prone deeper in the season. My guess (hope) is that it is a minor sprain and she can return before the season ends. It was a good sign that she returned to the bench last night. Not only is she our leading point scorer, she is the heart of the team on and off the court. She didn't have to come back this year after shoulder surgery, but she wanted to and she has shined. This is not the way anyone wants to see her go out. |

Terrific article in The Michigan Daily this week on Allison Jacobs and her volleyball journey. As I've watched her actions and leadership from the bench all of last year and in these last few weeks after her ankle injury, she looks like a future coach in the making. She has all of the attributes you want to see in a leader; enthusiasm, perspective, the drive to learn, resilience, joy. I don't know if we will get to see her again in uniform but I will be surprised if we don't see her on the sidelines at some point in the future in a coaching capacity. Wishing her the best no matter where her journey takes her. |
