Was good to see the offense come alive tonight against LSU. Baylor hit .319 in the match with McGhee (20 kills, .298), Murphy (15 kills, .406), and Andrew (10 kills, .714) all reaching double digit kills.
Despite Baylor not getting much production from Carroll or Sczech and Bibinbe only getting 7 swings, the offensive production was enough to overcome the 16 served errors. That was certainly a big concern, but having 11 blocks alongside that offense made up for a lot.
On a side note, Jurnee Robinson is so fun to watch.

2025 Commit Natalie Fukumoto has decommitted from Baylor and is now heading to Oregon I sensed a decommitment would be coming from her with all of the talented DS’s Baylor is bringing in. Best of luck to Natalie!

What is the draw to Baylor for top recruits? What is the incentive for players to choose the Bears? Just curious. Is it style of play? Beautiful campus? Charismatic coach? Chip Gaines?

Let's see...One of the most beautiful campuses in the nation, great sports, great kids, with athletic facilities that will match any college. Couple that with a great academic school in the middle of Texas....I can't imagine what the draw would be.

Baylor wins set 1, 25-18 over Cincinnati. Murphy not playing tonight. Instead Bibinbe gets the start on the outside and Davis in the middle.

Bibinbe on the left? How’d she look?

Bibinbe on the left? How’d she look? 5 kills on 13 swings, but 4 errors to hit .077, and two aces. If she’s going to be on the outside, she’ll have to learn to manage swings a bit more. Interesting that Warren wasn’t first up to replace Murphy. The rest of the offense was pretty good though McGhee: 13 kills, .345 Sczech: 11 kills, .500, 5 blocks Carroll: 9 kills, .312 Andrew: 8 kills, .727, 4 blocks

Well Baylor made it through the hardest part of their conference schedule going 5-3. Picking up the wins against Arizona State and TCU was big but really wish they would've taken one of those matches against BYU or Utah. The stretch of the next 10 matches isn't quite the gauntlet that the first 8 were. That also means they don't have many more chances at high RPI wins. Looking ahead, Baylor has matches against (RPI included)
vs. Iowa St. (114) vs. Colorado (74) @ Texas Tech (116) vs. UCF (179) @ Kansas St. (106) @ Kansas (9) vs. Texas Tech (116) vs. Houston (105) @ Cincinnati (138) @ West Virginia (178)
Looking at Baylor's season, while they have 6 losses, all 6 were to teams within the top 25 of RPI (2-6 against those teams). Against teams outside of the top 25, Baylor is 11-0 (6-0 against teams ranked between 25-75). In an ideal world, I could see Baylor going 9-1 in these last 10 matches, but that would require a lot of consistency over that stretch. A win against Kansas would be HUGE, but KU's offense may just be too good. Hoping for a healthy back half of Big 12 play for all!
