Sophie still plays middle right?
Cause .249 is absolutely pitiful for a middle, and its not even an OH worthy

Sophie still plays middle right? Cause .249 is absolutely pitiful for a middle, and its not even an OH worthy Largely due to workload though. She's still at 2.82 kill/set (2nd on her team) and is 2nd in the conference in blocks/set. They even had her hitting out of the backrow for a bit.

I mean I get the rely on her ALOT, but shes a middle... I have never seen an all conference middle hit that low... and its not like her KPS is lighting anything up

That's not fair. If pin hitters can win POW for putting up big numbers against mediocre teams, Grome's numbers as a setter should certainly be enough for a POW award. I more so meant that her stats were not even as good as Parks’ (yes I know, I’m a Gator homer). So it just felt weird to me to give her that award. I also understand that I’m prejudiced against Kentucky lol

early All-SEC thoughts POY: Kennedy Martin. full stop she’s run away with it whether or not UK wins the conference outright or not LOY: Maya Sands repeats, leader in DPS. if Martin wasn’t POY, McKissock could have a chance FOY: Taylor Parks’ conference stats look awful with the serving sub thing, but she might still get it. I think Aniya Madkin and Jaela Auguste are deserving though. maybe Madkin to not repeat Florida again? which of these players will get cut for All-SEC team? this is exactly one too many: Hannah Hogue Kennedy Martin Jurnee Robinson Sophie Fischer Erykah Lovett Emma Grome Brooklyn DeLeye Maya Sands Mychael Vernon Jordan Iliff Marina Crownover Riley Whitesides Alexis Shelton Nina Cajic Caroline Kerr Madisen Skinner Marianna Singletary Logan Lednicky Ifenna Cos-Okpalla my guess is one of the Mizzou girls because 4 is a lot, but how can you justify taking any of them out? probably between Crownover and Iliff. Fischer shouldn’t be as safe as she is with that tragic hitting percentage, but it’s Sophie lol. maybe Lovett? she’s been better than Sophie though lol. maybe Kerr gets snubbed? Cut out Hogue. She's a good player but Arkansas is 6-9 in conference, only hitting .220 as a team (13th in the SEC), and she's 8th in assists per set at 9.86. If you look at just conference games her stats are even worse.

Don’t know how you could give McKissock LOY without her being on the All-SEC team. She definitely deserves consideration! She’s been overlooked for a while and it would be so nice for her to get LOY her final season. She’s been lights-out lately. But her numbers also just aren’t quite as good as others’ I think

Cut out Hogue. She's a good player but Arkansas is 6-9 in conference, only hitting .220 as a team (13th in the SEC), and she's 8th in assists per set at 9.86. If you look at just conference games her stats are even worse. yeah but her digs are otherworldly. averaging over 3.5 digs per set as a setter is insane. especially in a P5 conference.

Good list but definitely need some more insight on what the criteria is for All SEC Team in years past…. Does the SEC base the end of seasons awards off performance during SEC play only or from the entire season? Also, what is the common amount of players chosen by position? Libero - 2 Setter - 2 Pins - 11 MB - 3 How far off or close are these numbers for 18 Spots?

Obviously what's gonna happen is they're gonna give POY to Grome for winning the conference when picked 3rd, losing Rutherford, 3 middles, and Lamb being out for half the year, and everybody in here will rip their hair out and I will howl with laughter
