If they run a 6-2, where does that put Henno or any other OPP? Henno is an outside This ^^^, lefty outside they had Sani playing Oppo last year. They would have rotations with no true setter on the court at times last year and just have guys throw it high outside.

Wasn't he more effective at Oppo before they switched him and Sani? Watching the matches last year it was a toss-up, but his passing is what put him at the left IMO, so Sani could just focus on attacking from the right/D-Ball)

UCSB lost 1-3 to GCU, wilting under the Lopes' service pressure. Gauchos had chances to come back, but they ended their runs with unforced errors (e.g., swinging out after a free ball multiple times). Bianchi was blocked 3x in a row in the 2nd set and just did not recover from that. Bruening was a bright spot, leading the team with 11 kills and hitting .280. This team needs a leader, and Walmer is the obvious candidate. Here's to hoping he can step up and rally this young squad when they face Stanford next weekend. I do not see UCSB challenging the Big West's Big 3.

it's early, but the North-Harvard, and SB-Stanford matches are impactful for the Big West
with Irvine's loss, & Haw-Loyola split followed by Stanford sweeping 2 from Loyola....
the Big West is pedestrian in the first 10 days, yeah, it's early
but Stanford winning over SB, would mean GCU is undefeated, Stanford undefeated, UCLA undefeated (despite a scare), BYU undefeated.
the Big West 0 undefeatedes already
the Big West is gonna have to start getting some good wins to offset losses, so far it's just Hawaii's opening night win, that's it.

Well CSUN gutted it out in the 4th set 29-27 for the win. At some points they looked too relaxed and Harvard took it to the Matadors, but towards they regained their composure and got back in the game.

I've never seen that many calls favor one team as much as I have tonight. I swear it's been 6 different challenges and all favored UCSB lol
