I wonder if any PVF players will go to LOVB once they see who's on the LOVB rosters. Or if there will be any yo-yoing of players between the two leagues from year to year.

LOVB is trying to get PVF players.... but as someone else has said (and i got confirmed to me...) LOVB's deal for non-star players is not good (cmpared to PVF)... so we'll see. |

It's hard to do a pro/cons of the leagues without knowing a ton of LOVB's structure..
like it the centralized league just a startup thing? will it be decentralized like the NWSL did with NT players? (that's the only circumstance that I know of to compare)
I do understand now why LOVB is avoiding the volleyball media online.

Are they saying international pro vb isn't real or are they saying LOVB isn't real? Just not sure why they decided they need to say PVF is real. |

Maybe ... and probably .. but I still think it is going to come down to if LOVB can compete on the pay scale, and if they add some infrastructure. Unless they are paying the same, or more, and have some proof of the ability to put out a similar product ... as a player I am not leaving the Omaha Supernovas and 60k a year plus housing for the Omaha sugar donuts for less money and no structure. Which means LOVB has about 4 months to get their stuff in order. |

LOVBs use of "grassroots" is going to be PVF's "REAL PRO VB" and i already hate it here I'll take some "real" logos on some courts that will eventually fade out over bleeding the club kids dry. |

It's PRO athletes, some of whom are world class or National team athletes. But I think that message gets lost ... |

It's the first time it's been applied to volleyball in North America. Every other attempt (MLV, USPVL, LOVB) has been single-entity. Combine that with the fact that that's the model "Big Four" sports fans are familiar with, that's what will make it "Real" for people being introduced to the sport. |

It seems pretty clear to me that PVF’s emphasis on “real” Pro VB is aimed at LOVB.
