It seems pretty clear to me that PVF’s emphasis on “real” Pro VB is aimed at LOVB. I thought it was aimed at AU tbh I thought about that at first too, but AU hasn’t responded at all, and the sarcastic digs and timing of announcements, etc. seem to be taking place between PVF and LOVB. And they are actually literally competing against each other.

And they are actually literally competing against each other. I think that's because AU knows that it's true. AU is not a 'real' professional league. It is a niche product that is helping to supplement income for pro players in the US. It might be more of a positive thing than a negative for AU because they do not have to compete for players, they can share and support. I think PVF's point is that they are the first real league, because AU doesn't really count and they came before LOVB.
Edit: First (of the currently running) league. The failed leagues probably shouldn't count seeing as they all failed. These certainly could as well, but they are currently active.

But they aren’t actually the first league, historically speaking. That ain't stopin' them. As someone who's done their homework about Grand Rapids sports history, there's a bunch'a of stuff both the PVF and the Rise front office are intentionally ignoring. How many times in last weeks telecasts did you hear about the "first American Pro Volleyball matches"? I honestly think they're rationalizing too themselves they can say that strictly because the structure of previous leagues disqualifies those teams and leagues as "pro" organizations. I still don't understand how the Rise can claim they are the first professional women's sports team in city history when the Grand Rapids Chicks existed 8 decades ago, but, that's their delusion.

So will there only be 6 teams for the first season of LOVB? Or are they announcing one more?

Any news on team names for this league? Or will teams be known as the symbol for the city. I like the ring of Madison Sting, Austin Armadillo, Salt Lake City Leopards…

these logos still throw me every time You know, I didn't like the logos for a while because they're fairly nebulous...but I have to admit that they're kind of growing on me. I also didn't like the lack of team names, but no name is better than a bad name (I say this as a fan of the Cleveland baseball team with the worst name in the majors). I don't know. It's probably just that this league has RJP and Jordan Thompson and a team in Salt Lake City, but I'm looking forward to their launch.

the soft color tones and vague shapes in the logos give me strong beauty product vibes, so a broad feminine vibe, which i assume is intentional
