Will is a great player indeed, but with the amount of 5th yr seniors Stanford have on their team, there had to be someone else on the OH who could and should have been able to step in. It's almost like how we have ragged on Alakai, as a 6th yr player he should be stepping up big time, and he finally has. Same is true for any team that has that many seniors. |

It's sad that Will couldn't make the trip not only because he's Stanford's best player but because he is in his final year of eligibility. He definitely would have made a difference tonight. How much? I'm not sure. Especially with Hawaii's service pressure ramped up. I do expect a better game from the Cardinal on Friday. They are capable of beating Hawaii even without W. Rottman. |

K just pau reading all of this lol.
1st set Stanford was playing Hawaii's type of ball- quick middles, then getting opponents to jump on it but hitting the bic instead. Luckily Hawaii adjusted and got them OOS with their serves

I blame C-Mac Agree that C-Mac is a key supporter of the "stand-at-set-point" idea. He claims that all the other schools are doing it. I wonder if "all the other schools" were mimicking the Hawaii tradition of standing only at match point. I'm in favor of standing only at match point. I'm also in favor of fans wearing UH green and/or UH-logo clothing. |

Watching some of the match right now, Choy seemed to struggle with those float serves and was passing free balls way too close to the net. Hope he cleans that up for Friday's game!

Favorite Thiim serve of the night for me was in the 4th when he knew he over tossed the ball for his serve so all he could do was outback the ball over and at least got the ball in. A really good reaction to try and better the ball, which resulting in Hawaii getting a dig and spike, keeping him on the service line.
