I don’t think she’s targeting any coach or program? She’s saying the NCAA needs to make changes to the process. Why didn’t she have her two commits wait until after their official visits before committing? Because the dumb rule about visits makes it that they can't even visit until August. As a midmajor coach, KBB already has the game stacked against her. What she has done to keep Creighton nationally ranked and relevant for a very long time is incredible. And she's a gem of a person. She has to play by the rules that currently exist, but is also able (particularly in her capacity as president of the AVCA) to advocate for some changes that she thinks would be beneficial to all parties.

This. Not sure why this poster is trying to criticize her.

Why didn’t she have her two commits wait until after their official visits before committing? If her suggestions are purely for the best interest of the athlete… It's very much like the politician who rails against the IRS and its tax code, while taking full advantage of the deductions in the current code. It might seem counterintuitive, but they're both just working within the current system while also wanting to change it.

Might be a better thread for this but fits in well enough with the recent discussion here about recruiting rules. Kristen Kelsay shared this post to her Instagram story. It’s not directed at anyone specifically but also feels a little pointed lol. Subtly imploring other coaches to follow the rules in Orlando? As the recruiting coordinator for MN she does get a lot of PSA followers though so maybe just reminding 2026ers why coaches aren’t (or shouldn’t be) approaching them in Orlando. I can understand wanting to prevent coaches from mobbing rising juniors at nationals and trying to recruit them in person. Combining that with allowing those same players to verbally commit over the phone as soon as June 15 just feels backwards though. Yay KBB for using her AVCA platform. I recall her tweeting about recruiting tampering a while back too. She means business! Surprised that IG account doesn’t have more followers btw. Seems to have some good information/advice. Could maybe mix it up with the teacup stock images though lol http://instagram.com/p/C8hibyxJmkx

If her suggestions are purely for the best interest of the athlete… Because the rules are currently still the rules. It would be malpractice for Creighton for her to give the university a disadvantage by following rules she'd LIKE to see vs. the current ones in place. I don't think it's necessary to be snarky with unrealistic expectations of KBB like this.

Any coach voicing their opinion on early commitments is only upset because they didn't win the race. If she committed Henley Anderson on June 15 she wouldn't be tweeting.

I can say with total confidence that you definitely don’t care about these athletes by making that statement. There are many coaches out there who are truly care about them.

If she committed Henley Anderson on June 15 she wouldn't be tweeting. You clearly don't know KBB. Yes she would. And I think Creighton is thrilled with the recruits they've landed. I don't actually think this dumb system is a disadvantage to them in any meaningful way.

I don’t think she’s targeting any coach or program? She’s saying the NCAA needs to make changes to the process. Exactly, as the system exists currently, she can't just unilaterally wait for August if PSAs want to go to Creighton. A new calendar would help, and delaying offers is already happening in ice hockey, so it's not a novel concept: June 15 First contact date, no offers allowed June 15 First official visits, no offers allowed August 1 Offers allowed Programs can now officially combine camps with visits, which some of the elite schools are already creatively doing pre-June 15. This isn't accurate. No sport has official visits before August 1 (although some are later in their junior year - baseball/softball/lacrosse is September 1, women's basketball is January 1, football is April 1). While the contact and unofficial visit rules are being worked on for volleyball, moving official visits earlier would be a nonstarter with the NCAA.
