Glad shewie got to set at UCI. I understand why Charlie went with the young gun instead....but as tough as these losses are....I know they will be beneficial for some of those young players for us in the years to come. So it bites for sure. But it will reap its rewards in the next few seasons. Yes sometimes it's playing that long game. I feel for athletes playing their final season but stranger things have happened. I was encouraged by Alaka'i, who played well, but also seemed to take on a leadership role and maintained that throughout the match until Oguz came in for a spell. Tread located his pins better today and continues to save tight passes and play defense for being a taller setter who has to worry about releasing. Keoni fought hard against another huge block and Eleu was scrappy on floor defense and fought off some great serves by UCI in serve receive. The Hawaii passing was decent to good with Keoni and Louis showing some improved technique and consistency. There are positives even in a shellacking lol

I've been in Big West world so I completely forgot about teams like UCLA and GCU for a moment.

On paper, the GCU v UCLA match is almost the same as Hawaii v UCI lol You had me thinking the Bruins went 25-15, 25-12, 25-9 okay?

I have watched Joe Worsley and Jakob Thelle play as Freshman. Tread Rosenthal is so far behind these 2, it is not funny. I just do not see all the hype in Tread, as a Setter. For him to be that Outstanding Setter, that everyone makes him out to be, he needs to improve 200% between now and next year. If Tread Rosenthal plays like this next year, I do not care how great the incoming hitters will be, Hawaii will struggle. Tread's set location, and decision making has a lot to be desired. To the point Brett Sheward totally outplayed Tread Rosenthal.

Joe Worsley, on the other hand, did have the "it" factor by always playing with a combination of a chip on his shoulder along with his high volleyball IQ but still was able to play his way into a starting role towards the end of his freshman season. Tread is very young for an NCAA athlete and has had to take the reigns of an offense with lots of expectations from the get go. He room to improve which I expect him to do so.

2019 (Freshman): - Appeared in all 31 matches and 92 sets mainly as a serving specialist - Also saw action at setter in the first Queens match (Feb. 7) with 13 assists and three digs and in the rematch versus Lincoln Memorial (Feb. 17) with 13 assists and two digs - Finished with nine aces on the year
Explain to me like I'm 5-yrs old how Thelle, as a freshman, is ahead of Rosenthal. I'll wait.

Just by the way Jakob Thelle played as a Freshman, when he was able to be the Setter. Even those limited appearance, he played better then Tread is doing now.
