dude just compared a 17 year old vs a soon to be 24 year old I was comparing Tread to Joe and Jakob, when they were also Freshmen. There is no comparison, Tread is far behind these two, when they were Freshmen.

Jakob Thelle:
2019 (Freshman): - Appeared in all 31 matches and 92 sets mainly as a serving specialist - Also saw action at setter in the first Queens match (Feb. 7) with 13 assists and three digs and in the rematch versus Lincoln Memorial (Feb. 17) with 13 assists and two digs - Finished with nine aces on the year
Explain to me like I'm 5-yrs old how Thelle, as a freshman, is ahead of Rosenthal. I'll wait.
Just by the way Jakob Thelle played as a Freshman, when he was able to be the Setter. Even those limited appearance, he played better then Tread is doing now. You sound dumb. Tread just needs to set his middles more.

I have watched Joe Worsley and Jakob Thelle play as Freshman. Tread Rosenthal is so far behind these 2, it is not funny. I just do not see all the hype in Tread, as a Setter. For him to be that Outstanding Setter, that everyone makes him out to be, he needs to improve 200% between now and next year. If Tread Rosenthal plays like this next year, I do not care how great the incoming hitters will be, Hawaii will struggle. Tread's set location, and decision making has a lot to be desired. To the point Brett Sheward totally outplayed Tread Rosenthal. I blocked you for a reason BUT... Lmfao. You're delusional. I'm not doing so well with my mental health these last few months but I'm here to make myself feel a little better by saying that you're DELUSIONAL. You're having senior moments.

Just watched the replay, and sharing some thoughts:
UCI * Shewie giving a masterclass on giving hitters balls that allow them to get to work. Nothing flashy, just a hittable ball. Even his set to the middle has some air (dare I say a 1 and 1/2?), especially to Grigoriev. It doesn't hurt that UCI's pins are 6'8-10"! How many times did Flexen and D'Arcy hit over the block? * Hilir and Shewie are the glue of UCI. Hilir's strong serve receive reduces the pressure on Flexen, and his ability to take out the trash limits OOS sets to D'Arcy (who I think is not yet elite in that regard, but will be scary when he figures it out with reps). And Shewie's silent leadership keeps this team on track. * Just by my eye test, I think UCI is the best team in the Big West right now. Before someone raises the "well UCI lost to LB last week" comment, my statement is based purely on the eye test this weekend. UCI is using all three big pins and is gelling quickly.
Hawaii * Someone else already mentioned it: Sakanoko's serve receive looked solid. Some issues transitioning to hitting after getting the first touch, especially on the BIC. But Sakanoko's serve receive was a bright spot for the team. * Eleu is now taking bigger area on serve receive, and doing some show and take, as expected. He had some misses, but I think this is the right thing to do. I hope he adjusts to his bigger responsibilities quickly. * This team needs a leader or leaders. So many instances in this game where someone needs to take control of the team. For example, Louis getting blocked four times - a teammate needs to go to him and say what he needs to hear without Charlie calling a timeout. Or when Tread is forgetting his middles (I wonder if it's because his connection with them is still iffy, although better?), who's talking to Tread on the court? If Voss or Todd can't do it, try Kauling? This is no longer a skills issue for the Warriors, it's focus and mental toughness, and thus the need for a leader.
Lastly, on repercussions: With this result, tough to see a world where all of Hawaii, UCI, and Long Beach get into the tournament, but I am hoping to be proven wrong.

The way Hawaii is playing right now, I can see the Hawaii Volleyball season ending on April 18, with 5 straight losses.

There is no comparison, Tread is far behind these two, when they were Freshmen. I think you don't quite understand how mechanically difficult it is to have elite motor control as a 6'9 17 year old. The mobility and touch he has at his age is physically impossible for 99.999999% of people as tall as he is. You are comparing him to Joe Worsley, who was forced to have elite ball control from age 15 up due to his lack of height. They play completely different games at the setter position. Have some patience and stop hating. You can be critical of Tread's performance without being completely delusional
