LOL Nebraska looking as dry and flat as ever. Miss the place lol How people wake up and don’t see green or mountains is insane to me. I know we’re spoiled in Hawaii but damn. It’s so sad to look at

Y'all care way too much about people's personal lives lol. It’s only ironic because 15 years ago Nebraska fans were pretending like infidelity on a coaching staff was a crime against humanity.

and I’m sure she will from Cook. Like his serious consequences for Lauren... oh right there were none. The only time he has shown concern is when his player was a victim of a DUI. I had a family member killed by a drunk driver. Oh but to so many here its just a joke to rub in the faces of other teams, but don't really care. Volleytoxic is the right description of this place.

How do people say volleytalk is worse off now than it was before? This thread is much more forgiving and PG than the VT collective was on Lauren Cook. Cook was DRAGGED. Cook actually hit someone, fled the scene, and permanently injured them. She deserved to be dragged. And so does coach cook over his hypocrisy on this. Covered for her, then campaigns against it when one of his players is hit. And I bet he'll be back to do nothing with this again.

Is the Uber/Lyft scene not a thing in Nebraska?

It is very easy to say that it was a mistake or a dumb decision when you know the outcome of the decision. [bold]She could have killed someone, or herself, and she should face serious consequences from that [/bold]and I’m sure she will from Cook. It obviously will not impact her playing career but it is just not a good look for the program and I think she may not make the roster for U21 just because it’s not a good look for USA volleyball. Maybe she will have community service to do over the summer anyways! Lol I never understand people who try and make the issue bigger by saying things like this. Like what possesses one to have a knee jerk reaction to pour salt on the wound? Like on its face, what purpose does this statement serve?

Is the Uber/Lyft scene not a thing in Nebraska? It is available in Omaha and Lincoln at least.

Some of these comments are taking me out omfg Never change volleytalk, never change Hey girl! Yes, especially the one about her blowing almost higher than her tourney hitting percentage! I been hanging out on the men's volleyball side of volley talk and I forgot how shady the women's side is lol

Maybe to impress on the fact that DUIs kill tens of thousands of people a year?
They need to stop, and part of that is not letting anyone off the hook, regardless of who they are.
When the public see people in power get away or get a slap on the wrist for something so severe, they begin to feel emboldened to act similarly. You need to impress upon folks that this is unacceptable, and if Harper can get a DUI and see severe, life changing consequences, so could they.
It's a disservice to literally everyone to give her a lighter punishment than they would anyone else, and shame on anyone who advocates for that or tries to downplay the severity of what Harper did.

A lot of student athletes (and regular students) don't have Friday classes. It gives them a jump start on the weekend. My classes were almost always either Tu-Th or M-W-F; I'm not sure I ever had any semesters with no classes on Fridays. But I spent a lot of Thursday nights working on the newspaper (we published Tues and Friday) and then either doing classwork that was due on Friday or playing bridge in the newspaper office after the paper went to the presses.
