Volleytalk should be sued for allowing this thread to continue. All indications are that she had a mental issue accentuated by improper Rx drug treatment. Piling on this recovering woman borders on criminal IMO.

If this is how she reacts to the pressure, she should transfer. Itâs not going anywhere. So itâs odd to point out unique pressure (which leads to a laundry list of privileges) as a reason for her bad behavior, while also suggesting that doing the same stuff will result in better decisions. Ah, a Texas fanâs agenda is revealed. Your intention to harass Harper with the hopes of getting her to transfer has been noted, and soon, you, too, will be exposed. đ She's already taping her fingers, so she might as well.

you seem to think you know all mental health issues well with but a bevy of them yourself My point is just mental health is not an excuse, as mental illness is not inherently criminal. Yet this article seems to make the precise association. I donât like it !! Does it make what she did right? No. Does it preclude her from consequences? no Can I understand that mental health issues affect everyone diffrently and cause others to react poorly at times? Absolutely. She did what she did, learned from it and is trying to move on. You should too

Itâs odd me how many people are being weird after seeing her play with joy alongside her teammates and finding out- shocker- she was in a tough headspace last spring. I thought this topic might die down when we had actual volleyball to talk about.

Are you hear to be judgmental Nancys or fans of volleyball because at some point you need to ask yourself why you came to this site in the first place.

I did not want to speak to anyone, even people who the day before, I had the best time with. I did not want to go into work, I lied, i lashed out, and anyone who knows me, knows I NEVER Show negative emotions, im always happy, go with the flow. Harpers one is even more serious as she was on medication that made it worse. the girl went through hell and back, messed up and KNEW she messed up, and being in the public eye it bit her in the ass. She is healing. we need to let her heal, and people who dont respect that, are flops

âkill yourselfâ âyour dad would be disappointed in youâ over statements made after an NCAA championship volleyball match - the fact you guys find a way to make an excuse or have her âtoughen upâ is insane. Not everyone handles mental health the same way - and as she said, she was in self-destruct mode. Itâs been talked about enough is enough for fu ckâs sake. a lot of you are sick for the way you talk about it. Those comments are at least as unacceptable as drunk driving idk whatt to tell you. I do know one causes more deaths than the other ! She also stole lol. The commenters saying that probably have mental health issues, too. They must â no one with good mental health says stuff like that. Itâs not an excuse. If this is how she reacts to the pressure, she should transfer. Itâs not going anywhere. So itâs odd to point out unique pressure (which leads to a laundry list of privileges) as a reason for her bad behavior, while also suggesting that doing the same stuff will result in better decisions. thereâs a difference between pressure and harassment - when youâre hearing/reading thousands of disgusting comments at every turn, eventually itâs going to take a toll. This isnât an issue of privilegeâŚitâs an issue of harassment overtaking a young womanâs mind. At the end of the day sheâs still a young woman whoâs super impressionableâŚwhy doesnât she âturn it off and stop looking at social media.â - easier said than done, especially when you first see what keyboard warriors are capable of. Yes she chose to go to the pinnacle of womenâs college volleyball and be in the spotlight - that doesnât mean she has to deal with the bulls hit/disgusting comments that people here are permitting. Like i said before, letâs see how YOU handle an influx of disgusting/tasteless comments. Iâm sure youâd handle them with grace and elegance. Iâm not excusing what she did - but i think weâre at the point of exhaustion here.

To be clear, negative social media comments about Harper absolutely exist, but if you go look at the comments on her posts, 99% are worshiping her.

She laid out some foul mouthed comment across the net to Molly Phillips in the national championship game; then that post game interview. Harper was not someone that should have been put in such a high profile position. There had to be red flags getting ignored. We were sharing what weâd seen with a coach over dinner and theyâd told us sheâd just gotten into a deep legal mess with the DUI - wouldnât say much beyond that.
I hope she grows and learns grace. I doubt the pressures of elite D1 volleyball are where she should be for that to happen - and if itâs even good for Nebraska.

Why are you out here being messy, Jasmine? I have never read a thread on Volleytalk so full of tired, bored old people and their comments. After 5 months the same crap repeated ad nauseam it does get a little boring.

I feel for Harper and at the spotlight that she has brought to herself by her actions. There is going to be a consequences and unfortunately any higher profile athlete has to sign up for the good and the bad. I would like to see her use this dose of humble pie to further her character development and learn from it all. She did not come across well at the final and quite arrogant for a freshman. No one wants to be front page news but if you have to be front page news hopefully you have not presented yourself as being all things to all people. That being said I am rooting for her this season and shall let the legal system take care of the rest of the judgement. I love her on the court and I hope that the masses will give her a chance to show who she really is with time and patience.
