My prediction: they will have the middles more involved next week ? Hope so! Tread needs to set a faster tempo. All the opposing blocks are ganging up on our hitters, cuz his sets are high and takes time to the outside. Thim is definitely not the answer at left. The answer is definitely get our middles more involved. Yet, how can when the pass is minuscule? I definitely agree that a faster tempo is needed. But it might be too late in the season to make that change. Tread is young, has difficulty with his setting location at times, and needs help with setting selection. He’s got potential, but it would help to have another strong setter to push him next year.

Chaz Galloway, showed he can play, so the question is, why is he wimping out and not starting. Chaz Gallowway needs to show leadership, and not wimp out. Galloway doesn’t choose if he starts the match, Charlie Wade does

What baffling is that Hawaii was down 2 sets to none and Charlie didn’t make adjustments and try out Kauling for the 3rd set.
Although Thiim played really well tonight. I think he is still a liability up front. We need a true terminator on the LS

Btw, special shoutout to this UCSD senior class. They participated in 3 wins against Hawaii over their careers which isn't an easy feat especially this last decade for most other teams minus LBSU!

This is actually a braindead take.

The way they pass and lead their setter to the step every hitter is on when Tread makes contact with the 2nd ball. The personnel would have to be right too. I think that hitters like Keoni and Louis would benefit since they both get on the ball quickly. But I think that hitters like Chaz (smaller but has a "floatier" jump) and Alaka'i with his lumbering footwork and windmill arm swing would find it difficult to assimilate to a first tempo offense.

At this stage of play not being able to get kills against a double block could be a liability.

SET THE DAMN MIDDLE, TREAD!!!!! DAMN IT!!! You can’t run the middles with terrible passing. This teams ball control during pass receive and transition defense needs work. The libero should be able to pass a serve. At every level the pass/serve game always is king. Ball control is their Achilles heel.

I'm so disillusioned after watch this match....I giving out wrong names! Lmao lol you got the last name right! I think what’s most disappointing is the lack of resiliency and fight. I feel like the second night against LBSU that Hawaii, at least, fought hard. Tonight they were flat and don’t have the leadership on the court to respond. I'd like to say that your best today probably won't be your best tomorrow. If that weren't the case, then all these teams would be playing at the top of their games. Yes, Hawaii didn't play their best game but their opponent was and it showed. We've seen examples of this across the country and right in the Big West when UCI and LBSU trading sweeps. Or Hawaii turning the tables on UCI last week. We also wouldn't need the concept of peaking and tapering at select times to be performing well at the right times. I think Hawaii gave what they had today and it obviously was very short of enough in comparison to their opponent who was punching above their weight and who may just be peaking at the right time.

And even in situations where the middles were open, he opted to set the pins. This has been an all season thing for Tread that I've commented about. Now with that said I still think he is a great get for us and will continue to learn.

But presently, he is not what the doctor is ordering for an OH1 terminator who can put his team on this back. Edit: I regret griping on height, especially being from Hawaii and playing my college ball amongst the trees on the mainland, but it is an immutable trait that he will have to work against. It can be done but his opponents are bigger and just as athletic. I support Keoni but I'm not blind

I'm in the PNW and I am able to watch the games from here. So you have no excuse tbh. Hahahahaha Get Hulu as I told you before and you'll be alright. It costs as much as a McDonald's meal a month. You can't tell me that you can't afford that. Haha I have access to spectrum. Only espn plus I don’t have It's on Spectrum also, so you should be able to watch.

He SHOULD be the OH2 and we really need Galloway to step it up and pick up for Chakas as a terminator. I just can’t believe he plays like he did tonight and people are still finding a way to throw shade…

There are posters who come for Keoni for the silliest of things when the man is out there doing his best. You said it. None of them are OH1s except for probably Louis. But he is young and boarded the struggle bus this evening.
