Guys as disappointed as we all may be let's rally together and wish the Bows well! I know I was being negative earlier during the match but I'll always be a BOW fan! It's times like this where our Bows need our fans the most! Make it to the BWCT and cheer loud and proud for our Bows! We love them! ❤️

I’m speechless.. our record looks better than it really is with so many cupcakes on our schedule! For me the biggest disappointment in this team is the lack of leadership by this large senior class.. frustrating but you can’t make someone want to lead…

You can’t run the middles with terrible passing. This teams ball control during pass receive and transition defense needs work. The libero should be able to pass a serve. At every level the pass/serve game always is king. Ball control is their Achilles heel. The passing wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst. And even in situations where the middles were open, he opted to set the pins. This has been an all season thing for Tread that I've commented about. Now with that said I still think he is a great get for us and will continue to learn. Mediocre passing and ball control have been a season thing…can’t run a dynamic offense when Treads running all over the place chasing shanks

I'm know I'm disappointed but not surprised. With Spyros we are a top 5 team. Without him, we are a top 10 with potential due to all the first year starters we have.
My hope now is they they catch fire in the BWT and win the darn thing.
To be honest, we really don't deserve an at large due the inconsistent play of this team.
We now have to earn our way in....the way it supposed to happen.

You can't tell me the passing was so bad that he couldn't set the middles rarely! He been doing that all season because despite the pass, he is use to setting pin heavy. Charlie mentioned that more than once. Its trying to get Tread out of that habit that is what he will continually need to work on. The passing certainly isn't the best all season but it's not so bad he couldn't set the middles more. And saying he had no other options is straight BULLCHET!

I feel passing comes before setting. You feel setting comes before passing. That’s ok.

Actually we see eye to eye on passing before setting. You just see it as if the passing is so bad that Tread couldn't set the middles more than he has. I'm saying...the passing hasn't been the best but even when they have good passing....Tread's constant go to is to set the pins. The middles are a constant after thought even when they have good to decent passing. Now that's a problem to me. Tbh.

By any chance, do you have the Hawaii's passing numbers? I'd be interesting in seeing what it really is. The eye test can be so deceiving.

My hope is that UH was fatigued. If that was the case, then being at home and sleeping in their own bed would be what the doctor ordered.
Spending 2 weeks in the road is a long time. No team had to to that in conference play.
Hope the team gets rejuvenate and kick ass at the BWT.

Okay, if I can get my hands on it I will share it with you. Hey! I asked another poster who is very knowledgeable about the passing numbers and I was told that the men don't really update Volley Metrics. Hawaii's serve receive passing was bad and got stressed by UCSD's service pressure but I think Hawaii's passing has looked good overall this season. Now, looking at what numbers we do have, we can try to make a deduction on the quality of Hawaii's serve reception. Hawaii is hitting .352 on the year which I think can be a testament to their serve receive. Note: I do think that men can and do terminate the ball more out of system, it's just apart of their game with so many dynamic and hard serves and attacks crossing the net. I can see the argument being made that the men's hitting percentage probably isn't as tied to their serve receive prowess like the women are. Spyros Chakas going down has taken a huge chunk out of Hawaii's entire game on offense and defense but also on serve receive. Just taking Hawaii's offensive numbers following Spyros' unfortunate injury, Hawaii's offense has gone 481-178-1040 .291. So maybe Hawaii's passing has gotten a little worse since the Chakas injury? Or is it because the hitters are more erratic no matter what type of pass and set they get? Or is it because the teams got subsequently better, coinciding with the injury, that has led to an overall dip in efficiency for Hawaii's entire game? My live reaction: I feel like this brought up more questions than it did answers lol

Can't look back on what if's...but the value of Spyros makes sense when seeing those the trends pre and post injury. Do you know the middle production pre and post Spyros injury? UCSD did expose the key to beating Hawaii--serve pressure and make the OH's beat you.
