i'm just curious in an 18 team league, where there would be 18 votes, one team got 17 points, unless you aren't allowed to put your own team anywhere on the ballot.
Given travel considerations, I'd probably have put Stanford in third. We don't know how that's going to effect them and Cal.
I'd put FSU above GT myself. No respect for the defending co champ putting them at fifth and returning a lot of gas, including the league co-player of the year.
The tiers are about right. It would be nice for one of the tobacco road teams to break out enough to get into the tournament.

I think GT will be a better team than FSU this year, but if this poll is instead judging the finish in the ACC standings, I would put FSU higher because they have a much easier schedule.
A more interesting pool would be: "What should we name the conference now?"

A more interesting pool would be: "What should we name the conference now?" Options include: The All Coast Conference The “Atlantic Coast” Conference (yes you have to do air quotes every time now) The Atlantic and California Conference (Sorry SMU) The Airplane Carry-on Conference

They brought in an all-American transfer this season.

I like what SMU is building but I think they get chewed up in this league. They have surely set themselves up to be most competitive in their first season, but it will take a lot of building after this one. They have a smaller roster of 14, but 9 of them are seniors/grads. Lots of experience heading into their first year in the ACC, but SMU may need to rely on the transfer portal over these next few seasons.

I'm not sure counting teamers makes sense here, given the teams came from three different conferences. GT returns all but one starter they had in their last match: their DS, Pimentel. They also lost their backup DS, Patterson. That position is a legitimate cause for concern. Transfer Velez should be the expected starter. The other notable loss is their setter that started most of the year, D'Amico. But I have a lot of confidence in a healthy Soares there. As usual, GT's roster will be top-heavy and thus vulnerable to significant performance drop-off if injuries occur. The WAC transfer mentioned above is Emiliano. She should back up Soares at setter. Tech also signed one of the top young prospects in Argentina late. Her name is Lara Martinez Casas a 6'3" outside hitter. Also one of their transfers is a pretty talented Brazilian Juco transfer Luana Emiliano so I feel pretty certain the setter position will be fine. Tech had a great high school recruiting class but with all their hitters coming back they probably won't see the court for another year.

Tech also had a significant late signing. Lara Martinez Casas one of the top prospects in Argentina. A 6'3" outside hitter. Also with Brazilian Juco transfer Luanna Emiliano I think they are fine at the setter position. Throw in a highly ranked group of high school commits and Tech is probably deeper than they have ever been. Should be an exciting year in the ACC.

With the addition of Lara, GT is now pretty deep at both RS and MB. Not so deep at OH and DS.

How did we get so many L's? Lara, Liv, Laura, Lydia, Lauren, Logan, Leia, Larissa, and Luanna. That's half the team.
