Regarding the Pitt vs Penn State game on September 18th, it says it will be broadcast on the ACC Network. Since that is part of the ESPN conglomerate is there a chance that this game gets picked up by ESPN2 perhaps? I get ACC Network but I have to pay extra for it, I know many others that do not get that channel. Hopefully a game of that magnitude gets the proper coverage.

ESPN2 in that window is doing some sort of Original Documentary from 9 years ago. So it should in theory be available.

SMU is going to be a real problem in the ACC... they just swept Baylor in Waco!

SMU is going to be a real problem in the ACC... they just swept Baylor in Waco! Agree. They remind me of San Diego of couple yrs ago. SMU is a team full of Seniors & Fifth Yrs which a coach must love. Experienced with an attitude to max out the year given it's the last one that several will be playing. They do seem a little up and down given who they've lost to. But not a team that anyone in the ACC should feel comfortable playing.

Everybody else looking up at Syracuse! So many geniuses pre-season thought the best teams in the ACC would be Louisville or Pitt or Stanford. But no...stradamus they are not! Clearly the best team in the ACC based solely on their stellar undefeated 7 - 0 record are the mountaineering, matriculating, meddling kids at that school somewhere in upstate New York - we're not exactly sure where. The Orange men, Women,...uh...the Orange have sent notice to the rest of conference, and that notice is "we'll see you in the Final Four b$tches!" The rest of the league is reported to have responded with: "Uh...you were 2-26 last year Orangeladies, Orangewomen, Orange. So slow your roll. We'll be seeing YOU on the court." Sure, Syracuse isn't ranked. And sure they were 2-26 last year. But they are having their moment in the sun. Which is great because rumor has it they don't see much of that star all winter.

A nice week for ACC teams: - SMU enters the rankings at #22
- FSU moves up 3 spots to #18
- GT moves up 2 spots to #15
- ND goes 3-0 and Shrader is named Setter of the Week
- SYR remains at #1 in the conference and would win the ACC Championship if the season ended today.
And then there's Miami, who decided they didn't want to participate in the positivity. They fell out of the rankings and are lucky to still be RV given their issues. Weaknesses they need to work on: (1) Blocking (2) Defense (3) Serve Receive The stats back that up. Of the 18 ACC teams: - #8 in Opp Kills
- #14 in Opp Hitting %
- #16 in Blocks
- #17 in Opp Aces
- #16 in Digs
Those aren't numbers that translate to long-term success. Need to get it together quick, with Arkansas coming up on Thursday.

Sarcasm turned up to a 100 I hope. As a Syracuse fan I hope they can improve over last year (looks like they have.. hard not too), but that might be the easiest non-conference schedule in the history of Power 5 programs. We'll see if the coach's strategy of building confidence through victories (any victories) was the right one. We'll get somewhat of an answer tomorrow, when Syracuse plays the first real team on their schedule (Iowa State).

What a massive win for Syracuse over Iowa State. You might say so what ISU is mediocre. But Syracuse had one of the worst seasons in Power 5 history last year and this year they played the softest non conference schedule in ACC history. A win over another real live Power Conference team show that this Syracuse team is back from the doldrums. They might not even in the top half of the ACC but they are no longer a laughing stock. Kudos are always due for massive improvement

UNC and Duke the first weekend but then they have Pitt and SMU followed by Stanford and Cal. Maybe they win 1 out of those 6 opening matches (Duke). After that they return to their norm.

Kudos are always due for massive improvement that's current ACC first place team and holder of the autobid Syracuse. i'm glad for them. they are probably in for a very rude awakening, but after last year, i'm happy they had a good run OOC. They played a lot of those same teams last year, and lost to them. so they are certainly better.
