Since there’s not a match thread I guess I’ll post it here. Georgia Tech's Emiliano went down nasty on her ankle (right iirc). She’s been subbed out and limped off the court but thankfully didn’t have to be carried. Hopefully she’s alright and recovers quickly! Looks like she’s back in S2 with a taped ankle.

Syracuse improbably loses 0-3 to Pitt today. Given that Syracuse was a perfect 12-0 in non-con, which made them the best team in the ACC, I can only imagine they lost today because 90% of their players were suffering from the flu. They likely fought bravely, but between the light-headed dizzyness, poor eyesight due to raging headaches, and frequently running off the court to use the restroom, they were unable to will themselves to victory.
According to the so-called "box score", Pitt hit .372 to the Cuse's .023. That must clearly be a mistake. Everyone knows that if you were 12-0 you must have dominant attackers all over the court. The NCAA must investigate this travesty of a stat crew.
The Orange, uh, Women will recover from their illnesses this week and be back to their 12-0 dominant selves next week. I pity their next opponent.

I don't quite understand why Haggerty at BC wasn't defensive player of the week. You think you'd get credit for 20 blocks in 9 sets against the top 2 offenses in the conference.

Maybe she wasn't nominated. Not sure how it works in the ACC but in the PAC, the coach has to nominate you. Every week, they showed all the nominees as well as the winners. Or maybe they have a bias toward teams that won. (Not fair but it happens a lot in sports.)

Anyone wanna throw in some names for: POY DPOY SOY FOY I know it's too early and lots of volleyball to be played.. I feel like Kami Miner has SOY locked up, though I think Fairbanks would be in close consideration. She could be POY as well. FOY, Nayelis Cabello, Ryla Jones, and Ipar Kurt seem like the most likely candidates to me but all three of them have question marks on that front - if Cabello were running the Louisville offense on her own, she'd be an easy pick for me, but it isn't that simple. Breonna Gross for Duke could be in there. For DPOY, it should be Scott. She has the most weekly awards of anyone right now - defensive or otherwise. Plus, she's Elena Scott. POY, Babcock or Stafford. It's pretty simple. I figure they'll give the edge to Babcock, and Stafford doesn't have any weekly awards yet, but they're both just unbelievable athletes to me. If I had to guess right now, I'd say: POY: Babcock DPOY: Scott SOY: Miner FOY: Cabello If it's not them, I'd guess POY is Fairbanks or Stafford, DPOY is Haggerty or Okammor, SOY is Fairbanks or Cullen, and FOY is Jones or Gross.
