yes. team members (or maybe the athletes themselves) send in nomination videos and Team USA votes. im blaming karch (LOL) for either 1) a terrible larson video 2) not sending one in lol i would probably venture to guess with Simone ineligible and Ledecky being saved for either the closing or LA... Coco is the only female athlete most of them knew (pain) i'm surprised USAV didn't go for foluke or larson in 2020 closing? it went to someone who placed 17th in the javelin... idk her story though Indoor volleyball gets no respect from NBC...or the USA Olympic team in general. Of course, Larson deserved to be a flag bearer. Even if you are not a volleyball fan but only looking at her purely on merits. Larson is one of the most decorated American volleyball athlete, having won all three medals of bronze, silver and gold at the Olympics. Not to mention a championship gold from the 2014 World Championship. Yes, she seems to have faced some tough times in her personal life enduring divorces and all that. But to her credit, she never let whatever difficulties in her personal life to affect her stellar career. |

I would like the flag bearer to be an athlete from a sport where the Olympics are the premier event in the sport. Not someone from the NBA, professional tennis or golf.
