C’mon USA captains make it happen! Not sure if they are doing the male/female again given the whole boat thing.
(Shoulda been Larson + Shoji in Tokyo)

The Opening Ceremony at the Paris Olympics is going to be done with an armada of boats travelling around La Seine. it won't be the traditional entry into the main stadium.

It's going to be a mess down the river.

With the current rate of injury on both teams, better to send Larson to Paris wrapped in pillows and bubble wrap. No need for her to get Choboyed carrying the flag.

It's going to be a mess down the river. I can’t tell if I like the idea of the opening ceremony being on the River. As cool as it sounds, there’s so much history behind the opening ceremonies and the athletes walk into the stadium and seeing the other countries. This will definitely be a once in a lifetime experience though.

That's fine so long as no one falls into the river. Despite half-hearted attempts to clean it up for the Olympics, the Seine is still very polluted, filled with all kinds of junk, sewage and nasty chemicals and pathogens. You wouldn't want to fall in there...

Has anyone else heard about the seating situation on the boat for USA athletes? Apparently USA Volleyball wasn’t sure they were going to participate in the boat parade if they couldn’t guarantee enough seats for the players and not wanting the athletes standing in one place for so long… Something to that extent…? I could be wrong though.

Also, as has been mentioned, if you fall into the Seine, you need to undergo long term decontamination.

I can’t find it but I’m pretty sure there’s a video clip of Karch talking about this and waiting for an answer about enough seats for the volleyball athletes. From NBCSports.com: “The U.S. Olympic team roster for the 2024 Paris Games will ultimately include more than 500 athletes.” Just athletes I assume, not coaching staff. Gonna need a big boat for USA Oh, and go Jordan - Get that Flagbearer position!!

Gonna need a big boat for USA It's definitely kind of odd. The route is so long and the crowd is going to be so very dispersed that it's going to be difficult to understand what you're seeing. I guess I'll have to memorize every nation's flag.

I'm not swimming there, and I'm not running the event, so it's not that big of a deal to me. But even the articles you posted say the organizers are confident the bacterial counts will be down and the swim events will happen in the river.

I would never be that brave (or foolish).
