Point is
IMO, setting is the HARDEST thing to judge when it comes to incoming recruits.
A pin you can kinda tell if they’ll be good or not. Middle less so but still maybe
Setting is so dependent on teammates, and other factors it’s always hard to predict.
To say anyone other than Haworth in the b1g even comes close to Reilly is insane
And even then, Haworth is not winning it over her unless Indiana makes a MASSIVE jump

That's why it's so unpredictable IMO.

This thread is proof that there is nothing to do in large parts of the Midwest.

I don’t know because Charlie hasn’t set a single collegiate point. That’s my point. I can say if you put Bergen on usc they do better and I think Mia may hold Nebraska a little more back. Haworth I Stan so I think they’re equal imo. Haworth is an icon. I could watch her serve all day. The problem is they are talking about setting

I think 6 setters have a chance to win B1G SOY this year. Tuaninga*, Haworth, Starck, Fuerbringer, Anderson and Reilly. Is there a real chance that someone would rate the six of them and put Reilly 6th? Well, anything can happen, but no, not really. Lets call a spade a spade, the three primary metrics that matter for SOY are 1 - how the team did, 2- assists per set, and 3- team hitting percentage. Other than that, some setter would have to have insanely higher periphery stats to overcompensate for NOT being the best in those three primary categories. Nebraska is pretty likely to finish top 2 in the big 10, so that already puts her above most of those other setters (it's surely NOT going to be USC or Indiana), Reilley was #1 in assists per set and Nebraska #2 in team hitting percentage last year and they return every single player. Sure anything can happen but even entertaining Reilley as being 6th on the depth chart of likely SOY candidates in the Big 10 next year is just silly. Okay, sure - you are correct in your statement. What I should have said was "In 2025, looking back, there are 6 different setters that we might be able to say 'she was the best setter in the league last year'". Even so, at no point in this conversation have I actually said I don't think Bergen is the best setter in the B1G, I've just said "there are days I question it."
