I heard something that all the Sting 17s kids moved to MVC, can anyone confirm or deny? I heard this rumor too, but I can't confirm it to be true. If true, I'm a bit surprised. Regardless of where they play, I just hope they all stick together. They're a hell of a team.

Aleksey went to Bay to Bay. Aleksey accepted the B2B offer? So then that means he'll play there if the B2B appeal goes through with AAU. Only grandfathered players were a shoo-in with the new rule, like Rafa Urbina and Wiggles.

Only grandfathered players were a shoo-in with the new rule, like Rafa Urbina and Wiggles. No way that it gets approved. Unless he can provide legitimate evidence on why Milwaukee based clubs or Chicago based clubs will impact his development I’m not sure what he expects. From my recollection he has only played for one club and that is Sting. So not sure how he can determine the culture of MVC or any Chicago based club.

I am coming in late to this whole Alexsy issue, when is the appeal supposed to be decided, and why would he want to leave and go out to California. The teams in Wisconsin are more than just competitive, they are usually national contenders

They are a great team. Although , for sure, 2 of the kids from that team are not with that group going to MVC. An AA, and a starting middle. If Alex goes to B2B that team could look very different ... Is that middle stayingJanssen? He was my second favorite player on that team after Aleksey.

Really hope Bay 2 Bay isn't promising something they can't.
If AAU says no to Aleksey playing there, I assume he'd have a spot on any of Sting 17s, Sting 18s (if they even field a team), MVC 17s, or MVC 18s.
Are the 2 kids that didn't move to MVC 18s the others who were playing up with Sting 17s? Will they be playing Sting 17s again, and will they be starters on that team?

That was a fun team. We wish nothing but the best for that kid and his family. Great people.

Any thoughts of preseason top 5/10? I'll take a crack at it 1. Middleton 2. Germantown 3. Marquette 4. Kimberley 5. Arrowhead Not too sure about order of 5-10, but I'd probably add Appleton North, Homestead, Pewaukee, Sussex, and New Berlin United HM to Madison Memorial

How is Homestead outside of Aleksey, and is Aleksey even playing for Homestead this year? If he plays high school volleyball in Wisconsin, he'd be missing a majority of the Bay to Bay club season. And then when California goes to high school season in the spring, what is his plan during that time while MVC, Sting, and other area clubs are at least practicing and playing in local tournaments.
I'm not even trying to knock the kid. He's good enough to be wanted that badly by clubs far away. That's awesome and I hope he represents Wisconsin as an Olympian someday. I'm just wondering what the logistics for this decision turn out to be.

I'm just wondering what the logistics for this decision turn out to be. Lots of important questions there. I don't have any insight in to his situation. From what I saw last year I don't think Homestead has much besides him. If he doesn't play during high school season, I wouldn't put them in the top 10. It hadn't even dawned on me that if he goes to B2B that he wouldn't play high school, but you're absolutely right. Now that you mention it, I don't even know if he'd be eligible to play WI hs if he went to B2B. There's been a lot of talk (rumors) about the club paying for his travel which seems like it may violate NIL guidelines put in place by the WIAA. The situation is a bummer as a WI VB fan, but I really do wish all the best for him.

I think this year's high school season will be a constant rotation among possibly 10 teams. All of the teams have question marks as well, and their are numerous major injuries that are playing a factor in things right now as well. I do not see there being any super teams this year or unbeatable teams as well. Remember Middleton did not get hot and right until late in the season last season. They have a lot to replace but have a very good core and a star in the making as well. Marquette is always Marquette. Germantown has a great Junior class along with solid seniors. There are numerous teams with 3 at minimum star players who could carry a team on any given Saturday.
Last year's senior class was loaded with talent. Look at the great finishes by 18's team across the Badger region at Nationals, especially in the premier and elite divisions. That shows the depth of that class.
Alexsey situation is becoming a lot of hearsay and rumors. Some might be correct, some might be wrong. Lets not jump to any conclusions yet and see what plays out. What I do know is nothing is finalized as of last night. However some of the other rumors that are floating around, without just cause are concerning for everyone involved and spreading of those rumors could cause problems down the road. What is known is Aleksey is a great kid and has a tremendous future in this game. He is a generational talent for sure.
