FVA had a scrimmage over the weekend. Couple take aways:
Kimberly - plagued with injury. 3 starters out. 2 with torn meniscus and 1 broken finger. Won't see them in the top 10 at the start of the season but once they are healthy they should take the FVA and make a state run.
Appleton North - Outside hitter is pretty good but his arm is going to fall off by end of season because there isn't much support around him.
Kaukauna - Super young and it shows. Libero is pretty good and they have a big middle. Could be interesting to see them if coach gets them ready. Last year for their coach from the rumors though.
Neenah - Darkhorse in this one. One outside is legit and they have some tall kids. Could make a run.
Fond Du Lac - Somewhat athletic. One decent kid but nothing to write home about.
Appleton East, Appleton West, Green Bay Notre Dame - Yawn. Nothing to report.

Any word on whether Aleksey will be playing for Homestead or not? Again, not knocking the kid, just curious how this will all play out. If he plays for Homestead, he misses half of his club team's club season. If he wants to play the full club season, I would think he wouldn't be playing the high school season.

If he plays for Homestead, he misses half of his club team's club season. If he wants to play the full club season, I would think he wouldn't be playing the high school season. If memory serves me correctly, I think Homestead usually plays in the KM tourney, so we may have an answer sooner than later. |

I believe the Kettle Moraine tourney is Saturday. First big tourney of the year, it will be interesting to see who plays well

Elliot from KM emailed out and said he would release the pools once the pre season rankings come out and he would seed the tournament based on those. Very good move from him. I am looking to break my streak of 12 years in a row where CMH or Arrowhead is not in my opening pool.
Arrowhead is hosting a quad with Sussex, Marquette and Middleton on Thursday. Arrowhead and Middleton will not play and Marquette and Sussex will not play, but 4 solid opening season matches to get the season underway.

The only reason they had the record they did last year was because of how weak their schedule was. |

I would be absolutely shocked if Aleksey doesn't play.
Some folks mentioned events leading up to KM this weekend.... another one is the Germantown quad on Thursday which includes Cedarburg, Pius, and Brookfield East.
