Not even close to being the same. First, those seats at Nebraska seat directly under the overhang of the seats above. Clearly out of playing area. Second, those seats require season tickets that include a $2500 donation. Not likely to pull in lot of immature out of control students. Third, some of the end line area is reserved for the handicapped, again, not like the type to get out of their wheel chairs or chant nasty things. Anyone who got near, touched or was yelling obscene comments would be out of there in a heartbeat. I was trying to describe the distance from seats to the service line... Teams at Nebraska could displace the front row in this section while serving. Sorry if you thought I implied that Nebraska fans were uncivilized... everyone knows your fans are models for excellent behavior.

Missouri has been a dry campus since 2000. You forgot to put "dry campus" in quotes. Ha! No kidding. Really though, can you imagine beer being served a volleyball games?

If not, I'd take the Missouri crowd over the Husker crowd any day. A good college match needs to have students, the students should come first. I really don't see the problem. I've covered nearly every Missouri volleyball match since last year, and I've never thought the fans were a problem. Probably the worst thing they do is chant "You suck" when they play the Hey Song. This has been way overblown, and it seems like the whole problem is that Ashley Engle's a little too sensitive.

Missouri wouldn't have a crowd if wasn't for Nebraska. Yes, Nebraska students can see the game but it's not a big draw for the students. Missouri vs NU last year in Columbia had it's largest crowd to watch a VB game. In fact it was the largest by a long long way. Missouri did about everything imaginable to market that game to get a crowd. I'd rather have a loud, volleyball savy crowd then a bunch of students who think they are the attraction and not the team.

If I remember right, last year when Nebraska played at Missouri several "fans" were removed. A couple of the girls who served long balls, were literally standing in the rows of chairs where the guys were saying all sorts of comments to them. I think there was a link on VT about it and that the Seniors handled it better than the freshman, but it shouldn't matter what grade you are in, there is no place for that.

LOL!
Just in case there is a Verizon tower on the deserted island next door.
With my luck, there'd be a cell tower there, but it would be Sprint.

The best thing about the Texas fan getting kicked out of the gym was just that. He was kicked out of the gym. At least Texas controls the atmosphere and the fans.
I was at the Missouri/Texas game in Missouri. Those fans are out of control and far too close to the palyers on the floor. Loved the enthusiasm and I love Wayne Kreklow, but they were less than 2 feet from the Texas player's ears when they served.
That being said, it didn't cost Texas the match. Mizzou was outstanding tht night.

I think there was a link on VT about it and that the Seniors handled it better than the freshman, but it shouldn't matter what grade you are in, there is no place for that. Excerpt from the Omaha World Herald: When NU and Mizzou met in Columbia last October, a school record 7,298 fans rocked the Hearnes Center as the Huskers pulled out a tough four-game win. Another big turnout is expected, with the Tigers planning a second straight "Can the Huskers" promotion. Fans who donate two canned goods at the door can enter for free. Cook on Tuesday cracked that he's waiting to see Mizzou break its attendance record when people have to pay for a ticket. But with its large and rowdy student section, Cook said, Missouri definitely has become one of the toughest road matches on NU's schedule. "They're not very nice," Nebraska star hitter Sarah Pavan said. "So there is an adjustment, having them yell things at you and making it personal."
