I noticed Go Iowa hasn't responded after a page full of his/her comments. He/she is probably out looking for a good volleyball team to cheer for. I liked Gator's comments, well said. One thing is for sure wether it's right or not, life is never easy on the road in any sport.

I wanted to reply to this thread after it was linked from tigerboard...
I'm shocked and disapointed that a few people misbehaving can spoil the on court seating for our volley ball team. As someone who has attended a few games I never saw these problems that others have said occured. I saw loud cheering and booing sure. I saw a little heckling also. But no more then goes on at typical football or basketball or baseball game at any given game on any given campus during any given season. Certainly the problem is not as wide spread as suggested. And the majority of students are being punished for the actions of a few. The only reason players are complaining now isn't a change in seating or treatment. Its a change in the number of attendence and atmosphere at Mizzou. With a large number of people it means the hearnes is no longer a library. Its a tough place to play. The players want to be babied, instead of playing another tough match. And it looks like to a certain degree they have won with the AD's choice to change the seating arrangements.
I believe strongly in a high level of sportsmanship, however I also believe in a strong home field advantage. If the Athletic dept is listening, this is a huge mistake. Crack down on knuckleheads who curse or make inapropriate comments, don't punish a loud home crowd.

The last time I heard the word "knuckleheads" was in the old TV show "Gomer Pyle USMC."

I certainly appreciate your comments and agree that a loud home crowd should not be punished for a few "knuckleheads". I know Coach Cook loves going down to Texas A&M and they are a VERY loud crowd but are very controlled also. Their chants and yells would drive my crazy if I attended their matches in person but they never try to get personal about their comments. They are just a great college crowd. I've never been there in person but have watched and heard them over the internet and I am impressed. I do not go along with your comments about your crowds being no worse than what "goes on at typical football or basketball or baseball game at any given game". That may or not be true but I like to think that women's volleyball is still above that crap. Just because it goes on in other sports does not mean you have to ruin volleyball too by copying that attitude. I am a FAN of the sport of volleyball BECAUSE it is still sort of a virgin in the crowd behavior attitudes. If it ever sinks to the level of football or basketball, I'll drop this sport and go to another like gymnastics or tennis where the fans are still civilized. I am very much looking forward to watching the match on TV in just a few minutes but I sure hope I don't see any of what has been going on in the past and what sounds like has been going on this year. Missouri is too good of a program to have bad fans ruining their reputation.

Student section yelling "USA," when Pavan serving. That kind of behaviour is pitiful and sad for a respected university. Some of you can make all the excuses you want for that kind of behaviour but its just plain classless.

However, for the most part, I think the crowd is pretty good.

Must be wrestling fans...next we'll start hearing chants such as "she has herpes" and "you f*cked up." As long as there are some good chair shots and table spots I'll be happy.
