So let's hear your team's 2007 outlook. Add one famous alum if you like. ;D University of Washington, Seattle: Philosophy major, if you can believe it. Projected Depth Chart: S: Jenna Hagglund Kelly Christian/Tama Miyashiro Alison Simmons OH1: Christal Morrison Kindra Carlson OH2: Stevie Mussie/Jill Collymore Kindra Carlson MB1: Alesha Deesing Kindra Carlson MB2: Jessica Swarbrick Shantell Durrant Kindra Carlson RS: Becky Perry Kindra Carlson L: Tama Miyashiro Ashley Aratani DS/SS: Ashley Aratani Megan McAfee If you'll notice, I put Carlson across the board because I really don't know where she'll play next season and rumor has it she can do all three very well. All the OH2/RS hitters are interchangeable except for maybe Mussie. Conclusion: Team looks promising, but young, unproven setter(s) is the key. Our frontline should be able to match up to just about anybody in the country and Tama is as good as a libero as any, and if the freshmen setters aren't up to the task early on, I feel total confidence in her setting if need be. Fearless prediction: 2nd in pac10, elite8... or final four if and only if we can learn to play on the road. Any corrections/comments/questions are welcome. Now let's see your team's prospectus/predictions.

OK.... University of California at Berkeley: Michele Tafoya. Class of 1988 (Mass Communications). Sideline reporter for ESPN/ABC Sports. (On second thought, John Cho may not have been the right choice.)I don't really see a depth chart per se. Cat Dailey is a good all-around players who may come in as a back-row sub or might stay in. I've noticed Cal plays different back-row players depending on the occasion. SettersCarli Lloyd (Fr) Bryte Nielson (Jr) LeftAngie Pressey (Sr) Hana Cutura (So) Cat Dailey (So) Am'ra Solomon (redshirt Jr) MiddleEllen Orchard (Sr) Kat Reilly (redshirt So) Mindi Wiley (So) RightMorgan Beck (Jr) Bethany Keisner (Fr) Libero/DSKristen Kathan (So) Caitlyn Murphy (Fr) Megan Schmitt (Fr) Carly Bouza (So) Jill Brunswick (So) Notes: This season, Morgan Beck nominally played RS, but she switched middle with Natalie Smart when they were both in the front row. I wouldn't be surprised if Beck played left and Cutura right next season. Cal suffered a lot from injuries last season - especially with Kat Reilly. They had to do a huge shuffle of positions with Reilly unavailable. Kristen Kathan may be the favorite for the libero position, but Murphy is supposedly very capable too. The biggest question mark may be at setter. However - I've only heard great things about Carli Lloyd and how athletic she is. Sam Carter was a four year starter, and Lloyd may also have the potential to do the same.

University of Florida, Gainesville Darrell Hammond, longest running castmember in Saturday Night Live history. Broadcasting major at UF. Depth chart Setters: Angie McGinnis(Sr.) Alli Cecchini(So.) Christina Diaz(Jr.) Leftsides: Marcie Hampton(Sr.) Kisya Killingsworth(Sr.) Janine Williams(R-Fr.) Callie Rivers(Fr.) Middles: Kisya Killingsworth(Sr.) Kelsey Bowers(Jr.) Kristina Johnson(R-So.) Kari Klinkenborg(Sr.) Rightsides: Amber McCray(Sr.) Lauren Bledsoe(Fr.) Libero/DS: Elyse Cusack(So.) Alli Cecchini(So.) Christina Diaz(Jr.) Erin Fleming(Fr.) Not sure what they're gonna do with Kisya. I'd love her back in the middle, but I think they might keep her outside. Time will tell. This team will have a great deal of experience and if they can stay healthy(big if, they couldn't do that this year), depth at all positions for the first time since 2003. Anything but the final 4 will be a disappointment.

University of Hawaii at Manoa Bette Midler (She attended, I don't know if she graduated). Majored in drama Setter: Mafua (Fr) LS: Houston (Jr.) Hittle (Jr. or Sr, depending on medical redshirt) Arnott (Sr.) Right: Arnott (Sr.) Keefe (Jr.) Kaufman (So) Middle: Sanders (Sr.) Gregory (Sr) Thomas (So or Jr., depending on medical redshirt) Kaufman (So.) Simmons (Fr) Blood (Sr) Libero: Lee (So) Kaaihue (Fr) Duggins (Jr.) Woolford (Sr.) Ong (Sr) Recca (Jr) Kitaguchi (So) The passing should improve with Hittle and Kaaihue (I left out Otineru so I don't jinx it). Setting is the question mark. The middles and Houston will be the strong points. If the setting and passing is good, I believe this team is capable of at least an elite 8 finish.

BC: That may be the first time the words "star" and "John Cho" have been used in close proximity. Pedro: I expect Kindra may redshirt, even though she is coming in early. Also, Jill played both LS and RS this year. I would expect Jill to start at RS and bring Becky along. I am not actually sure who all is on scholarship next year. I think these are: Jenna Hagglund Kelly Christian Christal Morrison Stevie Mussie Jill Collymore Alesha Deesing Jessica Swarbrick Shantell Durrant Becky Perry Kindra Carlson Tamari Miyashiro Ashley Aratani That would mean Allison Simmons and Megan Mcafee would not be. It will be interesting to see if Kelly Christian red-shirts. Also, I wonder if Jim is going after an experienced transfer setter. That would not surprise me in the least, but I am not sure where the scholarship would come from. If so, both Christian and Hagglund would redshirt. I wonder if Christian is on scholarship next year?

BC: That may be the first time the words "star" and "John Cho" have been used in close proximity. Honestly - never saw the movie, but I thought it would get a chuckle. Originally I was going with Gregory Peck, but that would have gone way over the heads of anyone under 30.

Here's a few famous Gator alumni: Show biz: Faye Dunaway, Buddy Ebsen, Forrest Sawyer, Stephen Stills, Mel Tillis, Bob Vila and Malcolm Gets Authors: Carl Hiaasen and Michael Connelly Here's the published article on the outlook for 2007 By BRANDON ZIMMERMAN Sun sports writer
Mary Wise will have a very unique commodity next year. Something no Gator volleyball team in 11 years has had.
The 2007 Gators will feature five seniors.
That was a comforting thought for the Gators' volleyball coach to consider on Monday with the sting of Friday's 3-1 loss to Minnesota in the NCAA regional semifinals in the O'Connell Center still lingering.
"For all of us it's going to take a little time removed from the loss," Wise said. "But we'll be able to look back and see that this team accomplished more, dealing with more issues than any team we've ever had."
Florida went 30-3 and captured its 16th straight SEC title despite having four key players miss time due to injuries. Now, the Gators look ahead to next season. And they have plenty of reason to be optimistic.
Florida's 2007 senior class will be its largest since 1995. The Gators got a first-had look at what experience can do when Minnesota, with its four seniors, eliminated the Gators from the NCAA tournament.
"We hope we can take a page out of Minnesota's playbook," Wise said. "Those four seniors went on record saying they just felt they wouldn't let their team lose. I think in college athletics you can look across all sports and teams are a reflection of their senior class."
The Gators rising senior class will include middle blocker Kari Klinkenborg, outside hitters Kisya Killingsworth, Marcie Hampton, Amber McCray and reigning SEC player of the year, setter Angie McGinnis.
The already accomplished class still has room for improvement. Especially Killingsworth. Wise expects Killingsworth to remain at outside hitter, where she steadily improved throughout the year after moving over from middle blocker.
"If Kisya stays on the left side, which we anticipate, she could look very different," Wise said. "As good as she looked this year we think she has the chance to be outstanding next year."
McCray is expected to return from her torn left rotator cuff in time for next season. Hampton, meanwhile, showed signs of becoming a more dynamic player by putting together some of the best volleyball of her UF career in the final weeks of this season.
"There's a lot left ahead for this class," Wise said.
While Florida will say goodbye to graduating seniors Rhian Davis and Stefanie Douglas, the team will also welcome in two players who are expected to be the foundation of Florida's future — freshmen opposite hitter/middle blocker Lauren Bledsoe and outside hitter Callie Rivers.
Bledsoe, a native of Long Beach, Calif., will arrive with "a lot of game," according to Wise, and could provide an immediate impact. Rivers, from Winter Park, has a high "top end," according to Wise and has the potential to "rewrite the record books before she's through."
Also adding to Florida's depth next year will be the addition of P.K. Yonge product Janine Williams, who redshirted this past season with a knee injury.
Wise hopes 2007 will be a healthier season. Florida overcame injuries to McCray (torn rotator cuff), libero Elyse Cusack (stress fracture), Williams (knee) and Klinkenborg (ankle) this past season and still won 30 matches.Looks like the plan is to keep Killingsworth on the outside, which doesn't make sense if Rivers is supposed to be so strong. I agree with Gator, I'd like to see her move back to the middle.

GatorVBall, out of all our famous alums you chose Darrell Hammond? What's up with that!?! I was gonna put down Bob Vila, but then decided nope. Stephen Root, Milton from "Office Space" and Jimmy James from NewsRadio, was my other choice. I went with Hammond. So be it.

Mary is going to have another great team at Florida, perhaps her best ever....it's too bad that it is at the same time that, on paper at least, Nebraska and Stanford will also have perhaps their finest teams in school history! Everyone else is playing for 3rd!

MB, I have the same thoughts as you. Kisya could be an addition on the Olympic team in the middle. Mary is wasting her on the OH. Wise needs to bring along one of her freshman and keep Killingsworths' domination in the middle.
