Does anyone know where the team will train while in Austin 5/18-5/20? Is it open to the public?

My guess would probably be at the ASC (Austin Sports Center). The USA camps that they have hosted have traditionally been open to the public (parents, coaches, etc.). However, since this is a specific team and they are preparing for international competition, this year may be different.

It would be pretty stupid on USAV's part if it's not open...

Isn't the A2 team going to be there too? Seems like it would be open

The JNT team will train at the Austin Sports Center this weekend. It is open to the public. I was told that the participants will arrive throughout the day on Friday. Workouts begin at 9:00am Saturday 5/19. There is a viewing area above the courts. Only players and coaches will be allowed on the courts.

Normal, IL - Barrington senior Lexi Zimmerman, left, and Joliet Catholic Academy's Kelly Murphy await the game three coin toss after the teams split the first two games in the third place match at the 2006 IHSA girls volleyball state finals. Hey folks....just trying this insert image feature to see how it works

A change to the original roster (Julianne Faucette's name has been withdrawn):
(updated May 17, 2007) - USA Volleyball has announced the 24-player roster for the 2007 U.S. Women’s Junior National Training Team, which will train May 18-20 in Austin, Texas. Within a week after the training session, the roster will be cut in half to 12 players who will represent the U.S. at the FIVB U-20 World Championships held July 19-27 in Nakhonratchasima, Thailand. Based on the original release distributed May 16, the roster has added Elle Ohlander (Caledonia, Ill.) as a replacement player on the 24-player squad.
Interesting to note that they have replaced an OH with a MB.

That's a funny picture. I'd say something, but I'm afraid the ref'd sue me.

Faucette played on the team last year, right? Is she injured? Kind of a surprise so close to actual tryout date. Hope she's okay.

This is going to be rough sledding for the USA, no Hodge, I still don't think Klineman will be there and now no Faucette....who is going to hit? Engle will not set at all as they will have to have her hit full time now...Dosty can maybe step in but last I saw she was still pretty raw.

As for her pulling out of the tryout, it might just be she doesn't want to play on it with the fatigue factor weighing in.

Maybe she just wanted to get ready for club nationals or she may have wanted to workout over the summer with her new Texas team... ?
