If it serves me right, I thought Haley says that he usually doesn't go after any of his club girls.......just because. I swear reading one of the articles it said that. Which would lead me to believe why she didn't head to USC! And too raw!?! How the HELL does EVERYONE know that!?! She hasn't even gotten a friggen SET yet and when she went in that ONE time.........nothing Happened to where she could prove herself!?! Again, how is she supposed to prove that she "BELONGS" if they don't give her any opportunities!?! As far as I'm concerned, everyone is talking out of their A*$ because she still hasn't been given the chance to shine!!! And in regards to her nationality, whether people want to believe it or not, African Americans in the Wahine Uniform has helped us continue to have the tradition and winning success. Maybe Ferrell will be that next person or not......but she can't show everyone if not given the chance. Yeah- I've heard about Haley making that comment. I can't help but feel that it sounds a little disingenuous. If Klineman were playing club ball for him- he'd let her get away? Maybe. Personally, I don't think he would ever let it would happen. But that's just me. When you hear DS say something to the effect- Ferrell is really pushing Houston & Cubi-Otineru for a starting position, then I'll buy in that she's ready to play. Just like he commented that Simmons was challenging Sanders & Gregory prior to the start of the season.- (And Simmons has struggled.) DS likes to bring his players along slowly- and Ferrell's played volleyball for like 3 years now(?). She really might have benefitted the most if she would redshirt this year. She's playing behind 5 other outsides. Hawaii might've had 4 productive seasons out of her instead of 3. She might end up being the BEST player Hawaii has ever recruited. I just don't think she's ready for prime time if the COACHES don't think she's ready. She'll get her swings during conference play. Nothing to get upset about.... Well in defense of Simmons, the sets she gets from Brandt like other MB's is very poorous at best!!! So she has to try her best to make things happen with a sloopy set. Secondly, I don't think Simmons thought that this UH team would struggle as much as they are which isn't making her very much motivated IMHO. And top it off with the fact that she isn't seeing much playing time and you get what Simmons is feeling right now. But I gaurantee you that she will SHINE IF she doesn't LEAVE after this season!!! And in regards to Ferrell, she needs to be given an opportunity to play and show that she belongs on the Left! She can't do that if not given the opportunity. And even if she doesn't have the experience shouldn't be the ultimate FACTOR for her not being given the chance. And I can only look at Houston, and Hittle who at times plays like they NEVER PLAYED D-I VB before!!! And both have been with the Wahine for 3 DAMN YEARS Already and they play as if they are underclassmen at times!! So the "Experience" excuse should be moot and again I point out to our starting OH's as my example. If she's not ready, I say fine, but the continous inconsistancies by our OH's should have been fixed from last year especially with ALL the Returnees this year!! The OH's need to play like the upperclassmen they are or I say to give the underclassmen a time to shine!! Kaaihue and Otineru are showing it to us, and Ferrell and Simmons can as Well!!

She has a big upside but she doesn't have the overall game of Houston, Hittle or Otineru. Shoji knows his team far better than we do. When he feels Ferrell is ready, he'll put her on the court.

Next year Hawai'i will be in good hands with Simmons and Kaufman in the middle and if Thomas can make a comeback, that'll be even better.

I really don't think redshirting Ferrell would do any good. Yeah it will help her gain the experience and improve, but she will still have to compete with Houston, Hittle, Otineru, and Keefe and don't forget Kanani Herring will be coming in next season as well. It still might be hard for Ferrell to see the court with all the experience coming back next season.

Simmons won't leave, she's stated that she loves it here. Besides, when was the last time anyone transferred out of UH? It's been a LOOONG time. AND, Kelly Ong doesn't count. Lol.

True... but if she redshirted, it would have been one less year having to compete with Hittle and Houston. Once the two graduate next year, the Wahine have Otineru, Ferrell, Herring, and well, that's it for now. She would have had one more year to be an integral part of the Wahine offense, and one less year waiting behind veterans. She should have redshirted.

Well Athletes are like Politicians when dealing with the media, they only tell you what YOU WANT TO HEAR!!! Again.......watch when the season ends.

I have a better view of the court than you. If as you claim, she has told you herself, then you'd have an insight on the matter that many of us do not. However, I'd be surprised if she is not wearing a Wahine uniform next season.

I've made numerous apologies on this board over the years, making another one is no big deal. I think it's premature to be making light of this issue this early in the season. The issues you bring up for her supposed unhappiness don't make much sense to me. Let's not forget that Volleyball is a TEAM sport.

Sure didn't sound like she's going anywhere after listening to her on Dave's show last week.

Okay let me rephrase, she thinks about it......And I say to watch after the season happens because it could.
I wasn't suppose to say anything........so I won't bring it up again.
