My all-time Wahine favorite is: Kim Willoughby My all-time Wahine team: OH's- Kim Willoughby Tee Williams MB's- Angelica Ljunguist Heather Bown Setter's- Robin Ah-mow Kanoe Kamana'o RS- Lily Kahumoku Libero- Tehani Myashiro Nobdy can fault those choices! But Deitre Colins must be mentioned: Ljunquist/Bown/Collins- no particular order. a two-time Olympian (1988 and '92). She was named the Broderick Award winner in 1983 and '84 as the top collegiate volleyball player in the country. In 1983, she became the only volleyball player to win the Broderick Cup as the top collegiate female athlete. In her humble self, she said that "Out of all of us - me, Suzanne Eagye and Angelica - Angelica is the best athlete and the better overall player." Perhaps she would have said the same for Bown had she seen her play. I am all broken hearted- Suzanne Eagye has been my all-time favorite. Pineapple this thread isn't called the best Wahine of all time...it's called favorite Wahine of all time...each person will have their own favorites... Most definitely Deitre Collins will go down as one of the best all-time but it doesn't necessarily make her someone's favorite Wahine of all time... Sorry I don't mean to be sarcastic or anything jus stating the facts because my favorites of all-time doesn't necessarily include the best of all-time...

I don't think I deviated. I said Suzanne was my all time favorite. I just made a side remark about Deitre Colins slighting my favorite.

Though I might of liked Tee Williams but I was not into volleyball at that time to remember how she played and I'm sure she was great.

Though I might of liked Tee Williams but I was not into volleyball at that time to remember how she played and I'm sure she was great. Well, Tonya "Teee" Williams played only three seasons for the Wahine, she was amazing. She was the most dynamic player to wear the Wahine uniform, a threat from anywhere on the court as a hitter, Dave Shoji had the option of going to her when they needed a fast point . She is a 3-time First Team All-American, 2-Time NCAA Player of the Year, has the highest vertical of any American woman (highschool or college player). So when Wiloughby came a long, it kinda brought memories back of Teee Williams, the two are very identical in every part of their game.

Wiz, I notice your Longhorn avatar is looking a little anorexic. You'd better get him over to the "Fast Food Generation" thread to learn how to stock up on fast food.
Or maybe he won't do that unless it's the Filet-O-Fish.

Heather Bown - She struck fear in her opponents like no other
Lily Kahumoku - She was very intense and quite looney
Hedder Illustre - no DS comes close

I watched both players from the beginning of their career as a Wahine to the end. And both would be without doubt hall of famers. Teee was awesome to the max, 2-time POY. Ok, I won't say if I think she was better than Kim lest I upset Kim's fans on this board. Kim's still fresh in our minds so that gives her the edge. The two were solid 5'10nish Wahine volleyball players that could easily outjump/outhit, hit over, blockers 6'4, 6'5. This is why I can't wait for Kanana Herring. She will be another one like them. PS. I had to modify this to add that I just now read Wiz's post. She said it for me about Teee.

Kanani Herring will indeed be another on of them high flying, hard hitting, defensive, serving, etc......Can't wait to see her in action next season......Does anyone know if Kanani Herring has a lethal jump serve to go with her stellar hitting and back court attacks?.....I'm sure she has at least a good jump serve?.....

Actually as of the last time I've seen (last season) her serving is the weakest part of her game. She jus does a typical standing floater. Hopefully she's worked on a jump serve that way she can bring it at the next level.

I've seen her play in two matches. She is like a combination of Misty May (agility), Kim Willoughby (relentless), Kaufman (high flying) and Aneli (Volleyball IQ). Serving must be so-so as Kolohekid said, because I don't remember how she served.
