No, I'll accept your points bet but loser must delete their VT account and not post on VT ever again. Deal? No....I remember last year you came up with some lame announcement that the Bik everyone knew no longer would exist, and I believe this is just a ruse to try and kill off your Bik personna again. And you'll post on some alias somewhere down the road.... To gather one's "nome de plume" and head off into the sunset is no way to settle a bet. I've never deleted my account. If I lose the bet, my account and BiK will be gone from VT on Monday, forever. There will be no alias down the road, that's it. However, I have faith in the Wahine so I look forward to the matches on Sunday. Don't let me down bomber.

Did I mention the Big 10 has only won 1 National title? I think you might have mention that a few times. I generally get a feeling of Deja Vu when I read your post about Hawaii. I personally don't think betting for account deletion is a good idea. Both you and Bomber add good things to the board when you're not both in rant mode. Ranting tends to show up in many people at times. Name calling and other personal attacks have no place on at board like this. Has anyone mentioned: That that this years' championship will mark the 20th anniversary of Hawaii's most recent NCAA Volleyball Championship? Hawaii's most recent championship match was in 1996 So the Big10 has that one National Championship (Penn State) you keep reminding people of; plus they've had 2 teams (Wisconsin and Minnesota) that have done that since Hawaii's most recent National Championship match. There are many ways to frame the comparisons you're trying to make but that's pretty much all it is - framing to make one team look better than another. Yet framing can be done in many ways for "both sides". Hawaii has a strong history and tradition along with one of the top coaches in NCAA DI history. That's something to be very proud of because the Wahine get a fair number of high level recruits and Dave and his staff an excellent record of developing the players on their team. Many of the same things hold true for Florida since Mary took over as their head coach. You're a friend BiK so please stop the name calling and or I'm gonna move to Hawaii and be your uninvited house guest while I'm recovering from my various health issues.

At only $5 a ticket I'm surprised that there won't be more show up. I wonder how many true fans would show up if UW charged what NU or Hawaii do for tickets. I wonder how many Husker fans would show up to their games if there was simply something other to do in their state for entertainment? Hawaii has much the same situation, except they at least have much nicer weather......... Same situation? You make me laugh. Honolulu is a city very much like San Francisco. The night life here and entertainment is nothing you'll find in Lincoln, or in any place in the Midwest, including Chicago. In fact, there may be more night clubs and night life here than in San Francisco because of Waikiki. One survey reported that there are more eating places in Honolulu, although San fran has classier restaurants. The University of Hawaii is perched on a hill overlooking Waikiki. The students can study on campus and have fun in Waikiki in their spare time. The 7,000,000 tourists that come here year after year can't be wrong, but must know something you don't. Lincoln is a respectable middle-size midwestern city with a population of 250,000. The city and county of Honolulu, which is the whole island of Oahu, has around 1,000,000 people or slighly more. The downtown area has around 350,000. The City and County of San francisco which is all you see perched on a hill has approximately 650,000 people. Same situation? no way!

Pineapple, I'm saying the same situation with regard to sports entertainment, not night clubbing. Both Nebraska and Hawaii have no (as in zero) professional sports team of any kind to follow, and basically only one major college team to support.
I've been to a few (three) Nebraska game, and believe me, your average Husker volleyball fan is as interested in going restauranting and clubbing as my grandmother would be. And when Mr. and Mrs. Yamaguchi settle in to their seats to watch the Wahine play, do you honestly think they were considering tripping the light fantastic on Waikiki as one of the night's entertainment options?
Puhleeeze!!

Let me see. What do people from Midwestern cities do? Its normally called a strange thing called family. Our lives are full but in a different way. We are not that interested in indulging ourselves 24 hours a day. We are about little league, school concerts, dinners for the sick, church, volunteer coaching, attenting parent teachers conferences, helping an elderly neighbor, and so on. We are really all about supporting our kids and our communities. Its probably why employers from all over the nation are recruting our kids out of college because they value and understand the work ethic and integrity involved with most midwestern kids. They have been taught to think a little deeper and value the truly important things that matter. Not about.....how can we indulge ourselves every evening with fine dining and night clubs. Its a bizarre strange concept called good parenting and family. Stay home and actually be a part of your childrens lives and enjoy them .

We're also -- generally -- xenophobic, homophobic, sanctimonious and racists. But, yeah, we have our good points, too.

But it's not what I wanted. You must have some self destructive tendencies in that Bik brain of yours........

Don't anyone let BiK goad you into an account deletion bet. This is a situation where you have to choose the lesser of the two evils. The last thing this board needs is to have BiK drop his main persona and switch all his posting energy into his ladeda persona. Or worse, resurrect samurai.

I really hope this comment is not geared towards San Francisco. If it is, I am amazed at the ignorance behind it. Being from the Midwest, I can tell you in terms of raising kids, you can find some of the best parents and some of the worst parents in the Midwest and West Coast. I really wouldn't say midwesterners are more involved more than the majority is just simple. To think, I used to be a husker fan up to I read this comment.

Gorf, my friend, I'd never consider you an "uninvited" guest. Hopefully, the Gophers will fly to Honolulu some time so we can all sip Mai Tai's under the tropical Hawaiian Sun. Stay well.
