15 page pre-match thread? you folks are crazy. just crazy. You're just jealous its getting more attention than your Stanford win. eh but now that I look at it, it needs the hype. Nebraska only faces one top 10 team in conference play and Hawaii faces none... when these team go head to head it's the most exciting thing...versus the Pac-10 where like 10 matches are top 10 teams versus top 10 teams MAY THE BEST TEAM WIN!!!.... which is hands down Nebraska...but Hawaii has the better fans

oh man, I was looking forward to "crushes the coconut."
Speaking of coconuts, I could use some juicy Nebraskan pineapple and a delicious Hawaiian corn on the cob.

Scott is "The" best play by play Volleyball announcer in the Country.

Nebraska has had a target on their backs three years running. The only time I've seen them succumb to the "pressure" these past three seasons was the finals against Washington two seasons ago. To paraphrase a certain football coach: Nebraska volleyball doesn't feel pressure, they apply pressure. The "pressure" for this match is a pittance compared to the pressure from last season. why would they feel "pressured" in 2005 by Washington? Washington WAS the better team that year, throughout the entire year. Nebraska was mega talented but still young, UW was also mega talented but far more experienced. They felt the pressure of being the #1 team in the ranking for the entire season. I agree w/your assessment of Washington in 2005. I saw a couple of their early and mid season matches and said to my sister at the time that Washington looked very dangerous. Candace Lee was a wizard at keeping balls alive. They had a ton of offensive weapons. They could block as well as Nebraska and wouldn't be intimidated by Nebraskas block. Nebraska hadn't gone against a defense like that all season. Hadn't gone against that kind of offensive balance all season. The "pressure" and succumbing to it was apparent early in the national championship match when Cook called a quick time out at 2-0 in game one. The Huskers were out of sorts and looked to be playing scared. Hotel, Pavan & Stalls were sophomores, Larson a frosh in 05. They now treat pressure like an old friend. If Hawaii's fans are hanging their hopes on Nebraska bonking to pressure at home in front of 13,000 Husker fans, Hawaii fans have their hopes in the wrong basket.
