Are you really going to base rankings on one match that happened in a preseason tournament? Correct me if I'm wrong, but every top 15 team has lost at least one match. I don't see everyone jumping on them about it. Every team is bound to have a bad match, just like every team has matches where they play better than they normally do. im sorry but the ACTUAL top 15 teams in the country would never lose 25-8 to anyone.....especially against a team that serves as poorly as us

I stand corrected then. ;D Are you really going to base rankings on one match that happened in a preseason tournament? Correct me if I'm wrong, but every top 15 team has lost at least one match. I don't see everyone jumping on them about it. Every team is bound to have a bad match, just like every team has matches where they play better than they normally do. True, rankings should not be based on one match, especially in a preseason tournament. A team could have a completely different line up by April. A coach could also be playing with line ups and found one that was disfunctional for that game/match. I've actually seen a team that lost 2 matches in the same season without scoring double digits points and end up in the Championship match at NIRSA's gold bracket. You never know what's going to happen. So it's all about playing well for 3 days in April.

But that one match doesnt represent the rest of our season.

the initial thing that was said was you could potentially be a 4 seed, which i disagreed with. are you trying to argue that?

Could Ohio State beat VT I believe so...Top 4 in the country I'd have to say NO. Very solid team though.

Who are the favorites this year? Is the Mid-west going to win again?

Regardless of rankings and all the talk, this has been the most even playing field in my 5 years of club volleyball. I can't wait to see the what is in store this week: which teams get upset, which teams have been flying under the radar all year long, it will be great fun.

I think I remember looking at the results and not even seeing them among the top teams. How are they in the conversation for top 4 ranking??? From what I have seen regarding results of the top tourneys (HI. Far Westerns and Vegas) I would say Fresno goes in as #1, and Illinois #2. After that its a crap shoot. Utah Valley, Arizona, Sac St, SDSU and Cal from the west .....Oshkosh, Lakeland and Maybe Mizzouri...not sure about anything out East. I personally think teams who do not travel to play in quality events should not be rewarded with good rankings... Gold Bracket should be VERY INTERESTING!

How can you justify giving Fresno the #1? It has to be Illinois. They won Vegas and MIVA as of late. After that its a crap shoot...

The men's ranking committee hasn't completed final rankings. Just the DI and DI-AA split after a long conference call of commissioners nation- wide. Be patient!
Also, thank your commish for all the extra hours they put in. We all have 'real' jobs and most all of us volunteer.
