The problem with PSU is that they have to beat 2 MPSF teams to win the NC. They've never done that (probably never will). . . . You may well be right that Penn State will lose to USC. But I've seen alot of posts about overly confident Penn State fans, both last year and this year (this year the charge has some merit, IMHO, as I think they clearly are beatable). The notion that Penn State "probably never will beat" two MPSF teams to win the NC strikes me as . . . well, let's just say "interesting." Never is a very long time. Many people thought no team east of the Mississippi would ever win the NCAAs in men's or women's volleyball. Penn State's five total (men's and women's) NCAA titles have debunked that theory. The "never" theory seems equally suspect. We certainly have a long time to test it -- eternity, really.

Last years squad couldn't help that they were good enough to be the #1 seed. They beat LB during the season at LB. They would have been able to beat two MPSF teams en route to a title if it was setup like that. I agree, never is a very long time...

Three of the teams were in Hawaii for a tournament to start the season, USC and Penn State are close, Ohio state is horrible.
