Hugh must submit his Olympic roster by noon tomorrow..this can be the thread where we talk about it, and when it comes out, we can dissect it and criticize his judgement (kidding).
Nancy Metcalf played much more than Haneef-Park has, and for the most part has been good. It the last match, Haneef outscored Metcalf, even though Metcalf started in all 3 sets.
Tama filled the libero position nicely, and I think this will weigh on Hugh's mind.. should something like this happen to Nicole again, USA cannot be stuck without a libero.

Surely there is no doubt of Tama being on the roster. Not only has she long been the backup libero, but she has been one of the most effective service subs.

Haneef was part of the roster for all legs of the tournament. Metcalf was only on the last few weeks. Haneef will go to London. In fact, I'd venture to say the roster Hugh used for the first two weeks will likely be the final roster. Which middles go will be the big question.

Hate to see Dani left off... she's freakin 40 years old and still going it with the best in the world! Love Danielle Scott-Aruda, but I hope if she makes the team, she has earned it (which appears she is in the running for). Please don't have a "sentimental" spot like in 2004 with Tara Cross-Battle. She did a lot for USA Volleyball but that spot may have made the difference between 5th place and a medal.

What do teams get to roster? 12 players plus 2 alternates?

Now I think it's a choice between: Richards and Miyashiro Bown and Scott-Aruda Metcalf and Haneef-Park It's very difficult to make a decision.

Id take both Bown and Scott Arruda for sentimental reasons/esperience, Both are like hen mothers for the team and i want them to get a gold medal.
Tom, larson, hodge Akinradewo, Bown, Scott Arruda, harmotto Berg, Glass Hooker Davis
last spot between Richards, miyashiro and haneef park. leaning toward HP.

I would rather take the players that are most likely to help the team actually win a gold medal. My assumption is that this will also be Hugh's priority. I don't think the team needs "hen mothers." What do they have a coaching staff for, anyway? And clearly the team is not short on experience.

They should try this: OH: Tom,Larson,Richards MB: Harmotto, AKinrdewo,Bown OPP:Hooker, Hodge S:Berg,Thompson L:Davis, Tama
IMO, Hodge is a great terminator but her ball control is a big liability. She should try to play opposite.

She can play opposite but hit from zone 4.
