Iowa is playing really well right now. I think by end of day on November 1st Iowa will have jumped past Minnesota and Northwestern and be tied with Indiana for 9th in B1G.

Nice weekend for the Hawks. I get it, Maryland and Rugters are not really vball powers, but, nice to go there and go 6-1 in sets.

Over/Under on B1G wins this season for Iowa? 5.5 Currently at 4, with matches remaining against Northwestern, Maryland, Michigan State, Ohio St, Penn St, Wisconsin, Purdue. 12 wins overall currently.

Three in a row!!!! Been a while since that happened! Great job Bond and the Hawks! Wow, first time that's happened in 20 years. Some of the current Iowa players hadn't been born yet. (and they have the Big Ten's addition of Maryland and Rutgers to thank )

I don't know how many Sharon Dingman fans there are in Iowa City, but I was surprised a bit to see her at the Illinois/Northwestern volleyball match Wednesday night. Then I remembered she is now the head coach at Div.III University of Chicago that is located on the south side of Chicago. She replaced a very successful UofC coach, Vanessa Walby, who was hired away from Chicago by perennial Div.III volleyball power, Washington University in St. Louis.
I have been watching Dingman coach for quite a few years now, and have great respect for her coaching abilities. She clearly is not ready to give up on her desire to coach the game that she must love dearly. I wish her nothing but success in her new position.

Good to see her still coaching though, but not completely surprised. Assume most coaches just get another job. Rita left, went to FSU. (won't comment on success after) Cindy left and went to Luther, then UNLV. (looks like having success at UNLV too!) So, assumed Sharon would find a job somewhere. No animosity, but want more for the Hawks.

This is beating a dead horse, but Dingman's Waterloo at Iowa and Illinois State (to a lesser degree) was her inability to recruit top talent. I don't care how good of an X's and O's coach you are, winning without signing top players is difficult...especially in the B1G.

Chicago seems like a good fit. Very good program, great facilities, great school. Always interesting to see where coaches land. It's a career like any other. If you lose one job, have to go get another. Chicago seems pretty good this year, if not quite as good as previous years. They're 24-11, with at least four 2-3 losses. They beat powerhouse Wash U. They're getting votes (would be ranked 27). I looked at their schedule and their UAA conference schedule is basically completed in two weekends. Two different schools host half of the conference teams for 2 or 3 days and in those 2 or 3 days, the teams play 4 or 5 conference matches (sometimes twice a day). Then a couple of weeks later, there's another set of round robins to complete the conference schedule. Talk about intense.

Way to go, Hawks!!!! Purdue definitely missed Drews but Iowa looked good! Scrappy defense (LOVE Fugarino's grit) and Brobst was pretty much unstoppable...22 kills hitting .472. Four in a row feels good!

Yeah Hawks!!!!!!!! Another couple wins and maybe people will start talking about how good the Hawkeyes are getting instead of how bad their opponents played to get beat or taken to 5 by Iowa. He had his players believing in the preseason, and I bet they are REALLY believing now, and what a great group of gals! Keep on rolling Iowa! I said if we could come in 8th or 9th in the big 10 that that would be a good accomplishment for Bond's first year. Doable??
