Oh right, I was confused because he graduated this past year. Thanks for the clarification. I think he was on the last junior team or the junior training team and that his birthday is before 1/1/95.

OH: Jake Arnitz, Lucas Yoder and possibly Brenden Sander Oppo: Christian Hessanauer Middle: Kevin Rakestraw and Andy Benesh Which setter will they take, and will they take both Liberos? Or will they take Bantle? Boehle could be a DS. Storm can fly, but sadly he won't get a spot on this team. I want to bump this ha.

Except, I would not take Walsh, have Martin at Middle and take Boehle instead. Also, Bantle is an Oppo/L. I don't know why Bantle is listed as 6'1 on the UCLA roster, because for the 2013 Fab 50 and for Loyola he was listed as 6'3, and when I met him, he definitely was 6'2-6'3.

Good luck to all of the young men selected for the team in their endeavor to solidify a position. I hope the powers that be select the 12 best players that will give the US the best opportunity to Win. That obviousley did not happen in Mexico last year with the YNT. It should be about talent and drive and determination not what club you are from nor what location you happen to hail from. Unfortunatley that has been the typical selection process and has doomed the US programs in the past. Good Luck Gentlemen and Godspeed.

Roster won't get down to 12 for a few more weeks. The team is arriving this week to Lake Placid for the start their training session.

I agree with everything but the setters. Blough wasn't even taken as a setter for the YNT last year. He took all his reps at Opp behind Apfelbach. Has one year at Ohio made him that legit? Also, How has Fiers been improving if rumor has it that he hadn't trained with Stanford? Yet Dion-Kindem and Stallings didn't get any PT this year, playing behind West and Olbright, putting them at a disadvantage as well. I think the setter spots have no locks and are totally up for grabs. I would take Martin over Boehle. Dagostino and Bantle can hold the fort passing and defensively. I don't think another DS is necessary. Martin is a huge blocking threat and could really prove useful either playing middle or as a strategic blocking sub.

I saw Walsh play at JNT and I was very suprised by how effective he was so I'd agree with taking Walsh and Martin over substituting one of them for Boehle. He has amazing ball control though. So here's what I'd like to see: Lib: Dagostino (5'9")
Middles: Benesh(6'8"), Rakestraw(7'0"), Walsh(6'11")
OH: Arnitz(6'7"), Sander(6'5"), Yoder (6'4")
OPP: Hessenauer(6'6")
Setters: Fiers(6'4"), Blough(6'6")
Utility: Bantle(6'1")OPP/L, Martin(6'10")OH/M/OPP

Any word on the A2 Team roster? I'm kind of interested to see who didn't make the cut for A1.

I didn't even notice Colby Harriman wasn't on the training team. He made the YNT last year. So did Chris Nugent too. Ryne Benson is an oppo; he's damn good. Word is he's moving out to California next season and is going to play for 949. Heard he was wanting to go to HBC but they didn't need him, though I think he's better than Vaught.
