I didn't even notice Colby Harriman wasn't on the training team. He made the YNT last year. So did Chris Nugent too. Ryne Benson is an oppo; he's damn good. Word is he's moving out to California next season and is going to play for 949. Heard he was wanting to go to HBC but they didn't need him, though I think he's better than Vaught. I heard he's going to bones, not 949

That would be a very good pick up for Bones. They were definitely lacking in the opposite department this year and still pulled out a bronze medal.

Many of the guys invited to the A2 program turned down the opportunity because of the extremely high cost. If you are wondering why someone's not at the camp, it most probably the $$. I definitely think USAVB is using the A2 guys to cover some of the training team expenses. It is very, very expensive to participate and was made more so when they moved the training from California to NY. Cost is $800 (for 5 or 6 days) plus expensive airfare (800+) to a secondary airport in upstate NY. Plus for the West Coasters, there were very limited flights given the time schedule put forth from USAVolleyball. After arriving in NY, they had to take a several hour bus ride. Anyway, with the price and the way they schedule these HP events, they make it impossible for a kid of modest means to participate. The kids going to this A2 program are lucky to come from wealthier families that can afford these expense. It's also probably easier for an East Coster given the choice to hold training in a small market in NY. Add this to all the politics that go into team selection... It doesn't seem to help "grow or better the game." (Check out how many of these players on the training team are directly connected to the college coaches involved, to fergie's SCVC club, or is currently a Speraw player.) It's tough for the guy "not connected" or whose family can't drop $2000.

I saw Walsh play at JNT and I was very suprised by how effective he was so I'd agree with taking Walsh and Martin over substituting one of them for Boehle. He has amazing ball control though. So here's what I'd like to see: Lib: Dagostino (5'9") Middles: Benesh(6'8"), Rakestraw(7'0"), Walsh(6'11") OH: Arnitz(6'7"), Sander(6'5"), Yoder (6'4") OPP: Hessenauer(6'6") Setters: Fiers(6'4"), Blough(6'6") Utility: Bantle(6'2")OPP/L, Martin(6'10")OH/M/OPP What do you guys think of this roster?

Have you guys seen Perinar play? Don't count him out I've seen him, he's good. I'd rather have Hessenauer.

darian I feel like your roster is probably going to end up mostly correct. Only things that be different could be like Soren replacing Blough or Fiers, or Enriques replacing Dagostino. As for the A2 Roster, I don't know that many names, but a team made up of Nugent/Smith/Colby outsides, Benson oppo, Lammey/Pia/Oboh middles, and Eric libero, it could be basically last year's YNT. The only difference is the setters, whom none of which I recognize.

I don't know much of the A2, but I'd say Harriman/Nugent OH, Benson OPP, Sikes LIB; I'm not familiar with any of the other names.

The list for the A2 program are the players who chose to do it or were moved up. I know there were a decent amount that backed out of that program, such as Pep freshman Mitch Penning, Chad Mccallister and Hawaii's Jennings Franciskovich.

Lammey and Pia were middles on last year's team, Oboh is a starting middle on Princeton, and Lee Smith is Penn State's only 2014 recruit and he was on the YNT two years ago. Parker was an outside on the YNT two years ago.

I believe most of the guys are in New York now. During practice last week, I heard Jake say he was leaving this past weekend.
