What I know is that there is a drive thru beer barn in DeLand. I had to go through it and get a 6 pack. I couldn't resist. I hope it isn't the kind of volleyball match that will drive fans of one side to head there!

Maybe Steve Loeswick at North Florida should be in the Hot Seat thread. He inherited a program with real momentum, both indoor and sand. Good players, winning mentality. For one season he rode what was already there, but since then the whole program has dropped off.

North Florida just can't close. Is that on the coaching- at a certain point you probably say yes. Just not sure how talented overall the team is. They have led in numerous sets and matches- and against tough teams- and can't finish. Will be interesting to see how they respond to finally having a home conference game after being on the road for I believe 6 games in a row.

He in no way took over a program "with real momentum" or "winning mentality." The team he took over didn't have a winning season for a long time before he took over. They had been under .500 overall and in conference for quite a few years.

Actually UNF had made the conference tourney the last 2 years before he took over. He took over a team with 8 seniors and did well that first year. The prior Coach won 4 matches their first year and 14 the last year, I believe that is coaching, recruiting and installing a winning attitude. I don't think making the conference tournament with a 4-8 and 5-9 records are a winning attitude, but to each their own. Bunn had that team near the top of the conference when he left with multiple all-conference players returning. Either way, this is about Steve and I hope he gets it turned around because he may be on the hot seat and that's unfortunate because he's a good guy.

Kevin Maureen Campbell coached the Ospreys for five years before Steve became the coach.
Steve has done a good job with the sand team. They won the conference in '12 and '13 and should have won it in '14 falling to a scrappy Stetson team in the final.

Steve has done a lousy job with the sand team. He inherited good sand players, including a couple of outstanding ones. As they've graduated, and as he's mishandled pairings, the team has declined.
Then there's Rita at Florida International. She has great resources for sand, but not much to show for them.

While I agree that UNF has struggled indoors, it appears that their Sand program has flourished. Any objective look at what the Sand team has accomplished shows they have been very successful on the beach under Steve. You can count on one hand the number of Sand coaches that have done better than him in 3 years, and he has very limited resources. Not going to bother listing all the team/player accolades for UNF sand, but losing just 1 conference match in 3 years is a start. While every coach/player/team wants to do better, I think trashing his Sand accomplishments smell of an unhappy player or parent.

A victory against JU on Friday would most likely result in a 4-way tie for fourth place. Montechello, there are a couple of other coaches that would like for you to make the same comment about them so they can go on a run. Haha!
