UNF indoor plays solid volleyball. They played Lipscomb + FGCU to 5 sets this fall. Head coach is fully engaged @ the matches and his players appear to enjoy playing volleyball for him.

Maybe Steve Loeswick at North Florida should be in the Hot Seat thread. He inherited a program with real momentum, both indoor and sand. Good players, winning mentality. For one season he rode what was already there, but since then the whole program has dropped off. Interesting that since the above post was made, UNF has won 4 straight. A victory against JU on Friday would most likely result in a 4-way tie for fourth place. Montechello, there are a couple of other coaches that would like for you to make the same comment about them so they can go on a run. Haha! It sort of depends on your standards. I wouldn't call it "going on a run" when you're winning games in the bottom half of the A-Sun and against a couple of MEACs. But it probably does qualify for hanging onto the job.

USC Upstate gets their first conference win this season over North Florida. That's a bit of a surprise. I had heard that UNF was doing well lately. They had a winning streak going. UNF has a solid indoor program, so this is a nice win for USC Up.

Looks like 5 teams going after 4 spots for tourney @ FGCU. N.Kentucky playing good VB. Would be nice to avoid them in tourney.

Can someone tell me what the tie break procedures are? I assume head to head would be first. If JU ties either UNF or Kennesaw for the last tournament spot- how would the tie breaker work since they split with those teams? Thanks!

atlanticsun.org/sports/wvball/2014-15/releases/201411198trl5tAfter reading this press release about the end of the year honors, I'm a little confused. In addition to first team, second team and freshman team awards, the ASUN also had Player of the Year, Sammie Strausbaugh, JU Defensive player of the year, Cari Whitmire, UNF Setter of the year, Gigi Meyer, FGCU Coach of the year, Brandon Rosenthal, LU So if setter of the year is Gigi, why is she not on the first team? There is no setter at all on the first team. Is this common?
