I thought Harvard was the prettiest campus in the U.S. To each his own, I guess. I never found Harvard to be very physically impressive. You know who does have a nice campus, though? Princeton.

Time for Rose to try a new lineup. He's got attackers available, especially if he can play Washington at MB.

BTN re-playing match. Really enjoyed the fight the Huskers showed last night at home. Hancock seemed a little off and younger players showed their age. PSU will be just fine though. Nebraska will gain confidence with this win and settle in for nice season. Also came away thinking how glad I am with BTN coverage of vball these days, Wolf, Flaugh and Nelson all are enjoyable to listen too.

New Jersey is a beautiful state once you get out of that 50 mile +/- radius of new York city.

Depends on what one considers "beauty" with respect to architecture, landscaping, natural terrain, etc. I've visited quite a few campuses. My favorite setting for a campus that I've seen was at West Point. I also took my niece for one of her undergrad visits to Furman; that was a beautiful campus as well.

Very well put! And unlike others, you didn't feel it necessary to make disparaging comments about NEB or make sweeping generalizations about the Husker fan base while doing so. Good effort. And I agree about your characterization of the original comment being absurd. Come to Lincoln sometime for a match and I'll buy you a popcorn I thank you but I have to confess that on another thread I quoted my somewhat elderly relative who moved from California to Lincoln a few years ago and he is a bit afraid of what he describes as a nearly religious, fanatical fan base, although he was referring to football. Considering he's a huge sports fan, him being taken aback by it had some credibility. He recently visited me and I recorded a Huskers VB game to show him how awesome it was. I'm trying to get him to go to one of the games because I think he would love it but to quote him, "it's either endless cornfields, the Olive Garden, or the Huskers." I used the quote on another thread in response to the poster who disparaged Stanford but I genuinely find the fans in the stands at Nebraska to be the best part of watching the game on TV. I do hope he will become unafraid and get in on the action but it's an adjustment from California where people aren't nearly as passionate. According to him, Huskers football is the beginning conversation with anyone you meet for the first time. I told him to forget football, I'll tutor him on my limited knowledge of volleyball and live vicariously through him while he attends the games. He's not sold on the idea.....yet. Apparently it's quite a culture shock. If I ever make it down that way, I'll message you and buy you a popcorn in appreciation of your very kind post because you may rescind your offer after reading my post on the Stanford thread. Popcorn is still my treat. Might even splurge and get you a Runza. BTW... There aren't that many Olive Gardens here.

Nebraska plays in a great environment; with it's huge crowds, maybe the best in volleyball. I'm not sure why you can't make comments to congratulate your team without putting down other programs. FYI, it was not an echo chamber tonight at Maples. Over 3,000 is good crowd for there. But you REALLY have no idea why anyone would choose to attend Stanford? Need I even answer that? Being one of the top academic institutions in the world cant help. And being the top athletic program in nation EVERY year for more than 20 years now can't hurt either. hmmm nice location, resources, campus...You got me. I've no idea why. Oh gees....Red has been on this board for ages and his overzealous-ness concerning the Huskers is renowned. If I would have known it would then turn this game thread into a continuous blog of why Stanford is superior to every other college in the universe, then I would have drove to Reds house and threw his computer in a canyon just to save myself the misery. Just as predicted Nebraska( the poster) also has his nose buried up Stanford's backsides, apologizing for Red, as if he is applying for a job in California. Now we have a conversation about the,"culture shock," when moving to the wilderness of Nebraska (Lincoln) and nothing but "Olive Gardens," which makes the impression of Nebraska and its citizens as prejudiced as Reds original statement. Despite Reds crassness, he does pose a question of why no one wants to watch such incredible teams and athletes play their hearts out at the many amazing universities located in Cali? If they were as enthusiastic at the games, as they are defending their university on this thread, then the place would be rocking. Now....is it possible to get back to the thread about the game? I knew I shouldn't have done it. I have you blocked but I thought I'd read one of your posts on the slight chance that you've possibly grown a brain. I was wrong. Your reading comprehension abilities are still at a third grade level as I didn't write anything resembling an apology for Red. The poster who commented about Olive Gardens was recounting a conversation with a third party who isn't even a contributor on this board. And what you refer as my burying my nose up Stanford's backside, most people would characterize that as being friendly. Maybe you missed the memo. Nebraska fans are generally thought to be friendly. Done with you. I'll check back in a year to see if you're any less ignorant. Presently I feel my IQ dropping just by this short interaction.

Anyone who watched this match saw that Nebraska had to play out of their minds to win. It helped that Penn State was hitting right at the Husker defenders for a good part of the night, but they were still hitting it HARD and Nebraska was still digging right to Pohlmiller. They also made a lot of spectacular digs and won a lot of rallies. I personally think PSU didn't serve tough enough. THAT probably had something to do with the errors -- how hard it was to get Nebraska out of system. But the upshot is still this: Teams are going to have to play great to beat PSU, maybe even better than they knew they could play. That's a tough task. Is it perhaps possible that as opposed to NE playing "out of their minds", they simply played closer to their true potential? Time will tell.

Annika was the player of the match for me. A lot of players stepped up and Nebraska didn't let Hancock beat them. They shut her down attacking on 2- I don't think she had a single kill. Frantti is going to be a star though. Great win, Huskers!
